Hours??? Seriously. I'm lucky it lasts a minute and a half. If you're getting hours of no squabbling, don't complain too much.

Mine will play good w/ each other some days... but then there are others where they are just at each others throats, I just seperate them or I make them sit on the couch and hold hands :lmao:

My kids are 11, 3 (for just 3 more days) and 2. So there's a bit of an age gap. My oldest is actually a huge help 90% of the time. The 3 y/o adores his big brother and thinks that they should be equal and spend all their time together - this causes issues sometimes with the oldest. I think that would happen no matter the age difference though b/c my sister that is 2 years younger than me irked my nerves to no end at times when we were growing up b/c she always had to tag along - we were friends most of the time but everyone needs their own space every now and then. My 11 y/o never had “only child syndrome” so while it was still an adjustment to have 2 younger siblings - he welcomed them

For those of you who have big age gaps between your children how did you & your older children adjust to having a baby?

In our case we would have at the least a 7 year age difference. I wanted to have children fairly close in age so they could grow up together but God had other plans for us.

There will be a 7, almost 8 year difference between mine. My sister is 6 years older than me, my brother is 9 years and my other sister is 10 years older.... I love them all and I don't ever remember any resentment from any of them. We're all still close even though there are miles between us.

Hubby is 7 years older than his bro. They get along, but they aren't as close as me and my siblings are.

I sometimes wonder about hubby's kids if we had a child together. The youngest is now 4, so likely the baby would be at least 6 or 7 years older, plus they're at their mom's house half the time. I wonder if our child together would feel sort-of like an only child.

In My Opinion
they are pricey. for an economical solution go with the shock collar for medium size dogs.
When I was in Virginia beach I had one of those anti bark collars on my dog. If he barked, he got shocked, was supposed to train him to STFU. didnt work.
BUT we had a party one night and one of the guys that was there passed out from drinking.
sooooo,, off came the dogs bark collar, and onto the friend it went.
then I went outside and knocked on the door.

SOB took out the coffee table, an end table and two dining room chairs while trying to get out of the house.

dog loved it, the taco dip plate hit the floor,, and wall, and somehow a bit of the ceiling.

the more he jumped around, the more the dog barked...

I loved that dog.

My little sis is 14 years younger and we have always been very close. It is just us. No other sibs. Same parents too. We are even closer now and live 14 hours apart from each other.

I am the oldest of 5 children.

There is a 9 year difference between my youngest siblings and myself. They are twins and my sister and I are very close and always have been. Then again, all 5 of us have a very strong bond between us. 5 kids in 9 years is not too much time at all...

My parents said 3 was a crowd, so tried for another and had twins.

My neighbor also has 5 kids but hers range in age from 22 years old to 4 years old.

My kids are 6 [July birthday] and 4 year old twins, who will be 5 in April.

About the same thing with me and my sister expect she is 10 yrs older than me. We've never had a close relationship and never will.

Same with my oldest sister but we're very close, you would think the opposite. Actually close to all of them, I guess it really depends on the family
