anybody heard updates? It's kind of like the cruise ship deal, you go planning to have a great time and love life then things like this happen. Sad, but that's life.

Not even close. The people on the cruise ship had to deal with foul odors. These fans got serious injuries.

I think what she meant was you go somewhere planning to have a good time and then something you just don't expect happens.

Fox is reporting 28 fans injured, a child is one of the more serious injuries.

From Yahoo

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – Twenty-eight fans were injured after a violent crash at Daytona International Speedway Saturday caused debris from a race car to fly into the grandstands. Fourteen were taken to area hospitals. Two are listed in critical condition. One of those has a life-threatening head injury, the other is a child. Both are stable, according to Byron Cogdell, a spokesman at Halifax Health.

At least nine ambulances rushed to the rear of the Campbell Grandstand as emergency workers scurried to help fans injured in the rows closest to the track after Kyle Larson's car violently tore through the fence, leaving his engine and tire behind. Other safety workers evacuated the scene of race fans.

Hmmm...

It was obvious, even in real time as it happened, that fans had to be injured. The announcers, the drivers and anyone with an ounce of human dignity was immediately concerned for the folks in the stands.

Yet, your main concern was that it was a great race and Tony won? Your concern for the fans was no better than tertiary(?)....maybe even 4th after the fate of the drivers (who have massive safety features all around them.

Pretty sad...

BTW...not that you seem to care, but ESPN now reporting the injuries up to 17...2 are major and at least 1 in surgery.

Have you been called a giant dick yet today? I know it's a late start and I'm getting here late so there's very little chance that I get to be first...

Oh... and technically some would deem that as a little ghey (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Not a ghey bone in my body but I would shove it down his cowardly throat just to shut him up. :yay:

Not to be out done, one lunatic is threatening Regan Smith's life on Yahoo sports and Dale Jr's life for hiring him to drive his #7 car.

This will sound bad, but sitting in the seats where they are right off of the racetrack - how can a person *not* think about what would happen if a car wrecks? There's really very little protection there. Looks like an accident just waiting to happen. :jameo:
