Are Nascar events like hockey where it states on the ticket if a puck or stick from the ice ####s you up, it's on you?

I was reading one report, that mentioned the hole in the wall for crossing over the track ....

seems that this 'doorway' has been responsible for several bad crashes ... sounds like a car can get caught in the doorway and flipped around

Where did all the misinformation come from? I've heard everything from 18 to 28 ppl injured and Chris Meyers just now said 5 of the 12 injured were released from the hospital.

My guess is that he meant 5 of the 12 that were hospitalized have been released. There were some injured people that were treated at the infield medical center and didn't need to go to outside hospitals.

Hank, basically yes. In the fine print on the back of Daytona 500 tickets is this.
The disclaimer on a Daytona ticket says: "The holder of this ticket expressly assumes all risk incident to the event, whether occurring prior to, during or subsequent to the actual event, and agrees that all participants, sanctioning bodies, and all employees, agents, officers, and directors of Daytona International Speedway, its affiliates and subsidiaries, are hereby released from any and all claims arising from the event, including claims of negligence."

Now however if negligence to safety of the fans can be proven that is a different story.

28 were injured. It was either 12 or 15 that were hospitalized (those numbers did keep conflicting), the rest were treated and released at the track.

Impressive non the less ...

one slightly used NASCAR for sale, minor front end damage

I just found out my brother was in the stands, row 43, right behind the wreck. :yikes: Didn't know he had gone down to the race. Debris didn't make it anywhere near where they were, but he had a great view of the action.

Wow. You just found this out? In my family, we would have scheduled a flight to FL, driven to the airport, flown to FL and met the family member at their vehicle in the parking lot before the race was over to make sure they were really ok.

 He's a big boy. He doesn't need us checking in on him. If there was a problem, we'd hear about it.

It almost sounded like my mother in law, but then you left out the part about her calling everyone she knew (including family members and the girl that walks the dog when you are away) and told them than the engine of the car landed on you and you are not expected to live through the night.

Are you sure?

I can assure you that in order to have to hear her giving me crap, should I die suddenly from an accident or something, I will not be the one calling my wife to inform her. Let someone else take the abuse..
