OrneryPest said:I can't find any place in the MD vehicle law book that says where your front plate has gotta be, as long as it's visible from the front.
ccrc1 said:13-411 of the Transportation code.
On a vehicle for which two registration plates are required, one plate shall be attached on the front and the other on the rear of the vehicle.
For definition purposes, "front" in this statute means the furthest, forward portion of the exterior of the vehicle.
13-411 (c) (2) How plates are to be fastened: In a horizontal position, securely fastened to the vehicle for which it was issued. It shall also be fastened in a place and position clearly visible.
Laying on the dashboard is (a) not attached
(b) not on the front (its in the passenger
compartment of the vehicle)
(c) not clearly visible (glare, darkness, and angle)
Its not enough that you can see a white
square, the letters and digits must be
clearly visible.
I believe this is what you were looking for. I hope it helps.

Okay, thanks. I missed that one. I guess that sitting on the dashboard behind the windshield would not be legal, then.ccrc1 said:13-411 of the Transportation code.

Right before the bridge in Solomons is a very nice place to put a speed trap. They pick up lotsa "paying customers" there. Mostly ding-dongs in large vehicles drag-racing to beat each other to merge onto the bridge. The winner gets a coupon for an expensive visit to the courthouse.jazz lady said:I drove from St. Mary's to Annapolis and back this afternoon and didn't see ONE speed trap. The only person I saw pulled over was right before the bridge in Solomons. It was the ding-dong in the red Dodge Ram pickup who passed me like a bat out of hell about a mile earlier.![]()
Speaking of which, there is a couple of officers there just now, I just came over the bridge...OrneryPest said:Right before the bridge in Solomons is a very nice place to put a speed trap.
