Ok about 7:30PM Sat, every officer in St. Marys county responded to Medleys Neck road in Pursuant of a Harley. I was right down the street and was told that the biker dumped the bike, Pulled out a knife SLIT his own throat and came towards officers with the knife and they shot him in the stomach and tazzed him twice.
Now my question is Does anyone know why it wasnt reported that he slit his throat and why hasnt his identity been released????

Saying he slit his throat sensationalizes the story quite a bit. Certainly, he cut his neck twice, then was shot & hit twice with a tazer. I'm tired of this story already - a friend of mine called & complained to me, asking why the cops around here always shoot people who are trying to kill themselves.

All I can say is A) if no one has learned that you're likely to get shot when you produce a weapon & threaten an officer with it, then that is their own fault; B) this guy started to walk away after cutting his neck twice, getting shot, and getting one jolt from a tazer - what's the chance he is a 1 percenter with quite a bit of meth (or even coke or PCP) in his system? He obviously wasn't feeling any pain. I highly doubt he cared about bringing a knife to a gun fight - he was just going to go down trying.

Oh yes, if any officers were in pursuant of a Harley...actually really, I have no clever response to that. It's practically impossible.

The deputy shot a man advancing toward him with a knife drawn after he tasered him. What's hard to understand?

What's impossible about chasing a Harley? I don't have any problem catching them

As far as I knew Harleys aren't known for being fast. Atleast not w/o extra work.

The only problem I see is the local cops need marksmanship training..

Why? One shot, one hit to center of mass. Add in the stress of the situation, knife, etc., and that sounds pretty good to me!

+1

Handgun shootings are only fatal in like 20% of shootings I think.

Remember the goal is always to "stop" the threat, legally speaking anyway.

I assume it was a duty issued .40 cal. he was shot with I wonder what round they use, anyone know?

Do you honestly think that coming after a cop with a knife is "acting a bit squirrelly?"
