Why? One shot, one hit to center of mass. Add in the stress of the situation, knife, etc., and that sounds pretty good to me!
True, but you have to wonder what type of gun it was. Granted cops aren't allowed to carry good expanding bullets, so the kill ratio would be low, but the "threat" was still able to attempt to walk away. Whatever they are using doesn't have the stopping power they need.

I agree. Should have put one between his eyes. Would save the tax payer from paying for 3 hots and a cot for someone who acts like this.

There is no such thing as stopping power when it comes to handguns, and why do you think cops aren't allowed to use good expanding bullets?

If you would like I can provide you some good links on the myth of "stopping power"

If someone is running at you swinging a knife, and he's within say ten feet, what would you rather be armed with? .45 (1911) or 9mm (92F).

Teddy Roosevelt chose the 1911 for stopping natives in the Phillipines high on drugs, that would seem to just run through hail of bullets and still hurt and kill his men. The .38 just couldn't do it, the .45 would put htem on their butt..

Right but it is because the .45 causes a larger hole and there fore greater blood loss. Thus why bullet expansion is so crucial in a handgun caliber.

Of course shot placement is the most important factor with a direct hit to the CNS as the real only true way to put some down immediatley with a handgun caliber.

BTW- either caliber won't work within 10ft. unless your on target and have your finger on the trigger.

21ft. rule and all
