Does anyone know of a company that cleans your dryer vent and puts a cover on it...I have birds living in my vent!!!
Get a coat hanger and pull the nest out - go to Lowes and get a roll of metal gutter cover (mesh with 1/4 opening) and make your own - put it on during nesting season and take it off, or remove it and clean is once a month
A hell of a lot cheaper than getting an "specialist" out to do the same thing.
My work has a potted tree outside my office and every once in awhile, I'll notice that a bird has flown into our building and is sitting on the potted tree. I kind of enjoy it. Makes being inside feel like being outside.
Is it near a dryer vent?
No but after reading this thread, I'm going to make a note to myself to remind me to check our dryer vent when I get home today. We actually do have dryers on site here at work and I should check those too.
if you're on the third floor, I'd access the dryer hose from the dryer side.
Use the discharge from a shop vac or water hose and blow/wash out any critters.
You wouldn't have birds nesting in your dryer vent if people weren't living in trees and taking up all the wildlife spaces.
I just heard a call for Animal Control to go to someone's house for a bird in the dryer.
Is that all you do all Day now? I know tht's what you do all night cuz I read it on teh internet. GET A LIFE.![]()

Yeah you may want to get a professional (roofer or sider) to go up that high to place a louvered flap over the dryer vent. We don't need to read about a happy home owner falling three stories Splat to the ground injured while installing a dryer vent cover. Better to be smart than busted up.Yes, the only reason I am concerned is they cause fires. I don't want to harm the birds. Just prevent them from going in there. I wanted a professional because its on my top level (3 stories) and I do not even have a ladder to reach that far and even if i did, I don't want to deal with it.
