I don't know what it is that I don't like about them. Maybe that they look like little green people. :lmao:
You have to look at it this way. What is better to look at?

A Praying Mantis or one of those spiders that is the size of a half dollar...:barf:

I can kill a spider the size of a half dollar and not feel bad about it. If I killed a praying mantis, I'd feel like I just committed a homicide. :lmao:

I think its illegal to kill them, dont quote me on that though.

I was trying to find a picture but I cant, some of them are not green. Hubby has found pics of them and they are so pretty.

:howdy: The perfect pet!

:yeahthat: I had an egg case on the outside of my back porch screen door I left there all winter and it hatched in the spring. Now I have a whole bunch of little praying mantises (manti?) running around and a LOT less bugs. :yay:

I distributed 5 casings last year and never saw a single baby mantis. However, I did see them when they were older, and had hardly any other instects all summer. I didn't order any this year, hoping that they dropped some casings of their own in the area. We'll see.

How many babies/adults do you think you got out of those 5 casings?

They are teeny-tiny things right after they hatch and probably only about an inch big. Several were crawling all over my screen porch. I have a huge one that has made its home on my open front porch. That sucker has to be at least 8 inches long. Guest have been quite startled when they see it.

I hope yours did multiply. They are just so cool to watch and really keep the bugs down. :yay:

My dad would crap on himself if I had an 8 inch Mantis on my deck. I dont think he would come over.

I love them!!
