Only BSOD I've ever had came when a hard drive failed which had nothing to do with the OS. I won't say one is better than the other. Both have their own issues, and both have their own perks. I was just stating that the article was clearly biased.
All operating systems crash. Most of the time it has nothing to do with the actual OS, more often than not it could be traced back to some 3rd party application. I've seen plenty of Windows BSODs and OS X systems crashes (even saw a video where Steve Jobs himself had it happen during a demo). Neither one is bullet proof, it all depends on what you do with the system. Truthfully I think Linux is the superior system hands down, but its lack of support by developers makes it impractical for most.
I hammer away @ my Dell 400SC (P4 2.4, 3 Gb Ram, 1 40 Gb System Drive 1 320 Gb Storage Drive, ATI 8500 Video Card - yeah its old) all day long, Games, Internet, System Monitoring util's but invariably i need to reboot every couple days - my Apple G4 450 OX 10.3.* sits quietly serving my iTunes checking my Comcast Mail and I used ti to login to my buddies X Server where I am hosting web pages for my Ebay Auctions ......... i haven't rebooted since the last round of Apple Updates ........
I guess the biggest thing is my XP systems gets harder use, WOW will not run more than 4 hrs with out blue screening the system ........ but I can play Anarchy Online for 14 hrs straight with no issues ........
it probably has more to due with my old video card - no new drivers updates from ATI - it is considered Legacy now ........ but the error codes and recovery after words do not say anything about a driver issue .....
IRQ_Less_Than or Equal to ........
IMHO Macs rule though , moms mac mini sleep for weeks and happily wakes upo for end of month bill time, and goes back to sleep ....
FYI - My j-o-b is supporting windows environments, 2000, XP, 2003, SQL, Exchange - so I have a fair amount of Windows experiance
and we have used Macs @ home since 1988 when a Mac Plus was a $ 5000 System - with a whopping 1 mb of memory
