Body Shop Recommendations

Well, stopped at PJs, talked with them for a while, got a real good feeling about how they do the repair. Told him I was there on the recommendation of so many folks from the forums. Very accommodating, no attitude.

So, ran home at lunch, emptied the crap out, took off the tool box and dropped of the truck. He's going to pull the damage apart and re-evaluate those things that may be hidden. I also didn't want to pop the hood prior to that 'cause I knew I'd never get it shut again. And as long as he has it, I'm having him fix the damage to the rear quarter panel when someone dinged me in a parking lot.

He said they are going to be swamped for months due to the hailstorm. All the shops north of Mechanicsville are overloaded and they are getting non-stop calls down here for the overflow.

I saw this kinda late, good choice!!! I would go with PJ's for my next autobody project. I havent had any work done there personally but many of my freinds have.

I have dealt with some of the other suggestions here, and I was not always pleases with the attitudes, and work done. Georges has gone way down hill. I get the flavor of some shadey dealings last minute price gauging etc... I wouldnt go back there. It has the used car salesman attitude all over it.

That was very much the impression I had too with Georges.

I just called PJs, my truck should be ready tomorrow. He found extra work to do after they pulled it apart, got calls from Rick to tell me and authorize any additional work. It will be nice to have it back.

We have been happy with Gary Grey's in White Plains.

Gary Greys is awesome! But with the hail storm that came through waldorf a little while back, they are backed up until next April (2011) with hail damage work..and they are "not accepting ANY new work of any kid right now" according to the guy who answered the phone 2 days ago

Not that I know of. Part of the problem with bodywork done on the side is that some of the better equipment that goes into a great job into something a guy might have at home.

If he is a GOOD bodyman he has all the right tools at home to do the same job at work...
