Boomerangs in Solomons

I went there a couple weeks ago...

The ribs were VERY good... everything else was ...

I couldnt believe they served instant mashed potatoes...

My crab cake was gross...

The potato salad was nothing more than cooked potatoes and mayo...

I would go there again and get nothing but ribs. Overall, I was not impressed.

We had the crab cakes which do not include additives like MSG and they were very good. He improved the green beans, and does accept and listen to feedback. The food is home cooked, not frozen so maybe try the red potato salad or ask about the mashed potato "issue" Maybe a bad night, but not common.

If you need more seasoning tell Bill, but know that all the food is fresh so no stuff added you don't need to enhance flavor...just natural spices.

Girl and I ate there on Monday, it was delish, as always. She who was "not very hungry" devoured her food, and then my leftovers for the next days lunch.

Can someone tell me about the revolving card (?) game that was being played in the dining room?

As a neighbor of Boomerangs, I think a Sunday breakfast / brunch would be awesome. A lot of people would come to the area for it. I believe Isaacs and the Captain's Table are the only other places open for breakfast in the area.

Love their food and staff (Shawna and Holly are awesome)!!! My dad frequents there as he works and lives nearby. Always get potato salad from them for the kids birthday party. Have been going there for 8+ years!

We are going there tonight. Our son aced his pre-MSA tests so he got to pick the restaurant. Is their Grilled Pit Ham and Swiss sandwich basically a hot ham and cheese sandwich? I had an awesome one while in Georgia over Christmas and have had a hankering for one lately. I'm not an adventureous eater so I like to stick to the basics. Just didn't want a cheeseburger or chicken tenders tonight. TIA

Wow, I went to Boomerangs over in Solomons tonight....it was really great !! The ribs were the best any nof us have ever had, and all the other stuff was homemade, the cole slaw, the crab cakes, baked beans, even the salad dressings !! the service was very homey and friendly.. Try it !!

I haven't been to Boomerangs in years. The no smoking Nazi rule in MD quelled my desire to dine in.

This past summer I went to an outside BBQ. All the food was picked up from Boomerangs and we dined on picnic tables overlooking whatever Solomon's Landing looks over

OMG...the pulled pork, ribs and unbelievable huge shrimp.

The kids had the usual chicken fingers and such. More shrimp for me!

Everything was fantastic!

..and I was able to smoke afterwards.

No I definately am not. I live over in St. Mary's and haven't been over to Solomons in a while. We usually go to Stoney's but they were packed. Boomerangs was a pleasant surprise. ( tired of the frozen food served at the chains !!)

We had boomerangs last night... great as always.. love the people that work there and it's great to go to a restaurant where the staff doesn't change weekly. The same ladies are always there and know us and what we want.

Not such a great experience

Went there last night - not so impressive. Ordered oyster, shrimp, haddock dinner and got the shrimp & haddock dinner - baked potato was scrawny and very odd shaped. Friend ordered ribs and chicken breast dinner and got ribs and half chicken. We both ordered VERY clearly and repeated our order, but when mentioned, she said that is what she put in and thought we ordered. No apology or real concern for us. When I ordered, I specifically askedif they bread their own shrimp or if they bought them that way. She said they bread them on-site. They were NOT hand breaded and were a frozen product. They were fine, but did NOT meet expectations.

I was there for the first time about 8 months ago. Also was a disappointing experience, but many of my friends love it over there. I must have just had two fluke incidents.

Just a thought...did you ask for a manager ? Boomerangs is always VERY good at fixing problems on the spot. I would call the owner and complain. He will probably take care of it. I called once and got a gift certificate to go back, he was grateful that I called. They can't fix problems if they don't know about it.
