Breezeline

Well this pisses me off - a week or so ago, Xfinity said "good news! we are in your area" and I began the process of setting it up, going all the way through and scheduling an install.

Nobody shows up. Contacted them - nope, no record of an order.

Go BACK to Xfinity - and it says, sorry, NOT in your area yet.

WTF?
LOL..just like Verizon..was told Fios was available in my area 10 yrs ago..Called to get it set up, scheduled..and same thing happened...Fios still not in my area...

Which is weird because -

I've now received about four or five advertisements in the mail - with my name on it - saying, good news! We are now in your area.
Still have them. All telling me, ready to go.

Set it up. Cleared out all the areas they'd have to work.

Nobody shows up. Call them up. Sorry. No order. No PARTIAL order.

I can still - "log in" - it logs me in for about two seconds and kicks me out again.

I mean, it even gave me a schedule for payments - install day, nothing, equipment chage for the first bill, regular bill of xxx dollars.

NOW - says, hey, we're coming - soon. Want updates? So my guess is, something happened where they either got too many requests or were not ACTUALLY ready.

Just got my latest Breezeline bill - just under 500 bucks. Yeah, you and me both. Apparently I've been "benefitting" from discounts for years that JUST expired (and it was probabyl still Atlantic Broadband then, too). Yes, I did know about it. Just didn't know how MUCH.

I hate this service. Hate it. Calling them today, but .....

Talked with them - they're redoing my home and the price will be half that. Let you know later, if it's worth it.

$500? What plan do you have. I'm paying $90mo for 200Mbs.

I get TV, phone and Internet package, so more than just Internet cost.

Was paying for their largest bundled channel package without premiums, for a four year discounted rate.
Ditto virtually everything else - cable boxes, TiVo DVRs and Tivo minis.

They even threw in a couple packages I didn't want, for free - like Showtime, which I never watched anyway, for all those years.

It all ended last month, and my bill nearly doubled. It's why I've been so urgent about Xfinity, especially since they stopped the crews planting cable on my street and in my yard about seven months ago.

In any case, Breezeline showed up yesterday, replaced my boxes with their new streaming version of Breezeline. It's all wireless, so at least, the TVs don't have to be near the coax emerging from the wall.

Total price back down slightly BELOW what it was, before the jump.

Oh Okay. You've got the whole deal. Interesting that you mention Xfinity (Comacast). They did the same thing in my hood. They started burying fiber at the begining of August. Were making rapid progress. Even installing those new boxes in front of every other house. Then, on August 29th, it all stopped. There's a bunch of coiled fiber cable laying in my yard surrounded by those organge cones. Nothing has happened in almost two weeks.

Comcast did all that last January, and the crew thought service would be available in six weeks. Every last vestige of the crew was gone from my entire street by that time - and all through Hollywood, as far as I could tell. Since then, I've gone on their site, clicked "Build Your Plan" and waied for the website to say "Congratulations! You are able to begin our service..." etc. So I signed up - picked out a package, dropped and added features and was given a prospective bill.

THEN I had to pick a date and time for installation, so I scheduled a time and told my co-workers I might be offline.

The time came and went. Called up Comcast - they said they had NO RECORD of an installation - not a partial - nothing. Went back to the "Build Your Plan" entered my address - and they claimed it was not yet available - but WOULD BE - summer of 2024.

Okay. So I go back daily. EVENTUALLY it changes to FALL of 2024.

So I don't plan to hold my breath. If the new Breezeline works out all right, I'll stick with them.

Oh. Wow. So, I guess I should'nt be expecting anything from them anytime soon. In the meantime, I have all these cables laying in my yard with the grass starting to grow around them.

Call them and tell them to clean up their mess or you will contact law enforcement about littering

I'll give it another week then I'll contact Bob Kelly and the Commisioners. They're the ones handling the grant money that's paying for part of the fiber expansion.

Those dingalings are back working in the neighborhood. Now the water is out because they hit a Metcom pipe.
