But anyone who asks questions of themselves and others about what's best for their child, I go with what Kain said. You usually know your child best and will do the right thing.

I don't agree. I know I read lots of parenting books while pregnant and still do. I think asking questions means you are a better parent. I'll be the first to admit, I don't know it all (I think I do but I really don't). I ask questions at the doctor's office and I ask questions of my family and friends. I wasn't looking for approval but just to see what others thoughts on the matter were. I'm not going to make a parenting checklist and go straight by it but I like to make well informed decisions about everything, including parenting, and well informed decisions take researching.

I guess I didn't make myself clear b/c you actually ARE agreeing with me.

Reading those books and asking those questions makes you a good parent and being a good parent makes you read and ask questions. But in the end, b/c you are a good parent, when you make a decision for your child, you are making the best decision for YOUR child and to hell w/ anyone who disagrees.

"Bribe" has such a negative connotation. Let's don't use that word. Let's say "reward" instead. And I think rewarding your son with new bathroom stuff is a brilliant idea!

I agree, if you give them the "bribe" before they do what you want then I think that isn't the best way to approach it. However, there is nothing wrong with "rewarding" good behavior.
