I'm just seeing this - so I might be too late to put my 2 cents in...
Just my opinion, but I don't think the yellow onion would give it the same flavor. I think you could omit the onion and it would be fine - but something about the sweetness of the red onion seems to go very well with the other ingredients. I think the yellow onion flavor would be too strong & would not blend the same way, you know?
But broccoli salad is great!

Hmm... I'm making it now.
Maybe I'll taste it without the onions and see if it even needs them. I'm not even really big on raw onions.

I wouldn't hitch a ride with him....he doesn't know where he's going.
Darn...BF just left to run errands and offered to pick up the onion. I told him not to worry about it.
I'm afraid if I give him too much stuff to do I won't see him until 10 min before we're supposed to eat.
