You sound exactly like my damn 3 year old did the day we told him that he had to move to his sister's smaller bedroom because we needed his bigger room for both girls to share. Quit whining and act like an adult.Cyurius said:But I wouldn't be happy. I want the other desk, it's close to mine now, and it doesn't make sense to have 2 moves. Plus, she has a whole corner to herself where her drafting table is...and I'll be damned if I want her over my shoulder every day when she uses her drafting table.![]()
dems4me said:I agree. Put yourself in her shoes. If you had been there longer and eyeing a bigger desk for a long time (longer than you) and then a newer person came in and immediately got it without anyone even asking you... wouldn't you start a thread about that too if you were her? You would have felt miffed or slighted that it DIDN'T go to you because you were there longer  It'll be okayNothing is forever

Roberta said:The desk in question is NOT BIGGER for the older employee, but BIGGER for the poster of this thread. Reread prevoius posts please.
At this point all she can do is suck it up and get over it. It doesn't matter what the boss said to her. What matters is what the boss did. He/she is the boss. And well, that's that. Whining about it is not going to do a damn thing but make her look like an ass. If she wanted a bigger desk that bad she can always try Mainman's suggestion. :shrug:Nicole_in_somd said:I still think the poster has a valid point. The woman was not looking for a desk until the poster said something, she also has the same size desk with more room.
If the boss gave it to the poster first then they should stick to their words. Period. Whinning aside. It is the right thing to do.
When I first started out I had to work in those damn cubes, so space and location is important. Thank God I do not have to worry about that anymore, or at least for the time being.
If it were me, and I asked for the desk first and the Boss said ok, then I would expect them to stick to the arrangments unless there was a valid reason to not do so. This is not the case.
Exactly! Without hearing the other persons side of it, I have to agree with the poster.
What does that have to do with grown ups or desks?kathie54 said:this is just like this boy at my bus stop he's always doing pelvis thrusts in mid air and ya know what i said " If your that desperate to f*** someone go f***....." i pretty much told him to do another boy and that got the other kids going. now i know your going to say i have a potty mouth but hey i rarely cuss so i thought just this once it would be funny

find out when bully lives, get up an hour or two earlier the first day the desk will be vacant, let the air out of her tires, go to work and start moving your stuff to the new desk. boss might think your a genius for such a diabolical plan to get what you want and he might give you your own private office.Cyurius said:There is a woman at work that is very much a bully. She kisses up to the boss constantly. She's one of those people who toots her own horn all the time....even though she finds ways of doing nothing but making it look like she accomplishes alot. She will be nice to your face and stab you in the back the moment you turn around.
Anyhoo, back to the point....one of our co-workers is quitting, so his desk is up for grabs. Everyone has the same desk but me. I have a much smaller desk, because I'm in a corner near a door, and fire code states my desk can't interfere with the door. A little while after co-worker said he's leaving, I said "I call your desk." Well, little miss bully pipes up, "No! I want it!"
Well, my boss told me he pretty much figured I'd be moving over to the new desk, because mine is small. She just doesn't like her corner b/c she has to see people when they walk in the front door. The next day, boss said bully gets dibs because she's been here longer. She must have said something to him, because the day before he told me I'd get it.
I know it's a stupid desk, but it's the principle. Boss told me one thing, and I called the desk, but because the bully is being loud about it, she'll probably get it. I don't want to cause a fuss, but I don't want people walking all over me, either.
What should I do?
don't think it would work at allThe Jackoholic said:find out when bully lives, get up an hour or two earlier the first day the desk will be vacant, let the air out of her tires, go to work and start moving your stuff to the new desk. boss might think your a genius for such a diabolical plan to get what you want and he might give you your own private office.

Jeff said:Been there done that. Duct taped a can of sardines under a co workers desk.
Not so much out of revenge but he kept throwing Chinese food in the trash so the office smelled like it all the time. After a few days of inhaling those sardines he finally started doing everything he could to reduce every possible odor in the office to try to eliminate the smell.
Actually worked out to my advantage. Killed the Chinese food smell. And ended up with several nice air fresheners in the office. Fotunately he was in a far corner of the office so everyone could put up with the smell. But it was right funky in his little world though.![]()
Given the nonsensical, rambling, headache-inducing nature of her post, I am given to believe that kathie is training to become the next Miss Teen Maryland.Nickel said:What does that have to do with grown ups or desks?![]()
