Link? Can you give me some proof showing he does not think about this on a regular basis? Some quote where he says he hasn't thought about this since 2004? Something from the past week? Some proof that he doesn't cry himself to sleep at the thought of gays getting married in California?

Kind of like the birth certificate thing. He was born in Hawaii. Hawaii is considered part of America....it's commonly known to be one of the 50 United States. Many on the right seem to be ignorant about that fact.

Being a proud ex-resident of that State, I can say many Hawaiian state residents seem to be ignorant of that fact also.

Nope, bottom line, Bush has mentioned, but has not actively pursued it. He has done nothing in any way shape or form to amend the constitution regarding gay marriages, and he's not actively trying to get it amended now.

And other than what he said he'd LIKE to see, there is no proof or eveidence of him doing anything to amend the constitution.

Giving a speech isn't the same as pursuing policy. Obama is great at reading speeches, but not much (actually, nothing) on follow through. Bush poorly read a speech, and hasn't followed through.

oh I don't know about his actual speech, I was just talking in the context of the article.

although, "An amendment to the constitution is necessary because activist courts have left our nation with no other choice" sounds pretty straight forward.

I don't really care. He'll just be replaced with more of the same.

and I doubt my fiance' would like me leaving her for a guy ....
