Buying a townhouse in Lexington Park

Can you be more specific because I've lived in Lexington Park for over 6 years in an excellent subdivision off Hermanville Road. Every area has a part you should be aware off, all of Lexington Park is a false statement!!! :coffee:

Too true, I suppose Esperanza Farms is included, along with Town Creek, Victoria's Grant and everything south of California - the land of milk and honey.
It get's tiring listening to generalizations. How about this one:
I would NEVER live in the same zip code as a large Garbage Dump, imagine the smell on a hot summer day, or the vermin! California, Maryland.
Lucky nothing gets across St. Andrews Church Rd. alive.

I think when most people are talking about Lexington Park, they're talking about downtown LP City, Great Mills road and surrounding neighborhoods. Anyone can see that there are good neighborhoods that surround this area, that are still in the same town, and they've been mentioned.

I was specific earlier, I said downtown Lexington Park, Great Mills Road. I would never live their and raise my children, I feel it's a bad area. I never said all of Lexington Park, most of the residents that live in St. Mary's County now exactly where I was talking about. Hermanville Road is a nice area, as is Park Hall, I was referring to Great Mills Road.

Sorry but below was your first post which I commented on which says...:coffee:

The Park has had major changes since 1988. I wouldn't feel safe living in Lexington Park and I certainly wouldn't want to have my children grown up there now.

There are so many other neighborhoods that are safer and don't have the congestion of Lexington Park. Why live there except for the convenience?

No big deal though and thanks for clarifing...:buddies:

My friend is about to list her townhouse on the market. She's still fixing it up, but it should be listed in the next couple of weeks. She lives off of Chancellor's run Road.

yeah...people got into an argument and shot at each other. That's different from a random act of violence against someone that was passing through.

The "ghetto mills" area might be the "ghetto" of St. Mary's county, but it's hardly a ghetto. There are plenty of places in America far worse than that.

Of course there are worse places in Ameria, but that doesn't make "ghetto mills" any better.

I live in the new townhouses at the intersection of Pegg and Midway that were mentioned by Mtrx and CrashTest. I think all the townhouses in here are actually sold (or almost... we have one left that nobody has moved into). I know the same builders are starting a new development across the street and that could be what the new $180s price tag is referring to. The lady who mans the model home here said the new townhouses were going to be a bit smaller than these.

Haven't been here too long, just moved in about a month ago but it seems quite nice. There have been a few cars with thumping music drive past but hey. Kind of expected living inside city limits! Most of us have alarm systems on our homes but they are preventive, I'm not aware of anyone having had any problems with crime yet.

But to Rmorse, if you're not needing to buy a house IMMEDIATELY, might swing by the model house here and see what info they have on the new ones being built.

I was referring to Great Mills Road. I have friends in Park Hall and Dameron, I wasn't referring to those areas.

Chermax.....

Here is where I clarified "Lexington Park" reference earlier, it was in a post on page 2 of this thread.

It's news like this that makes me truly afraid for my life. Thank GOD you warned me about the underground tobacco thieves creating havoc in the back alleys. I don't know what I would do if I had bought the place, only to learn that someone had something stolen from them. I mean, seriously.....what city has people who STEAL? :cds:

I really think you should buy the place in the park that you're looking at. I think the area is perfect for you! :huggy:

Lol.

I have already decided on a different area. I just found that story amusing. :buddies:

Hello all,

I am new to the area, and I am looking at a townhouse to buy while I am here. The house I am looking at is off of Manon Way, by Cadillac Jacks. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight as to how bad the neighborhood/area is.

Any and all info would be GREATLY appreciated.

THANKS! :buddies:

Good For You
