Tell me about the damn ankle swelling?? It's just now hitting me ??? I had very little swelling of ankles/feet during my pregnancy, but today....holly crap !!!
What is going on ??? My ankles are huge !!! Anyone have any suggestions??

Um yeah, legs, feet, and ankles swell up after c-section because of too much water in IV when they put IV in you. It hurt to stand or walk on even just for a minute.

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions. It takes about 2 weeks for it to go away.

Yep on the swelling being from the IV, but keep an eye on it and it never hurts to give the doc a call if you're concerned. Otherwise how are you feeling?

I'm having a c-section at Calvert in just a few more weeks so I'm certainly glad to hear such good things about them!
Anyone have any recommendations for a pediatrician that comes in to see newborns there at the hospital?

I don't know if he goes up to Calvert, but my son sees Dr. Sheth in Lexington Park. Baby is 5 months old now and I've been nothing but happy with Dr. Sheth.

For regular office visits his office can be kind of a pain because he is usually running WAY behind. He is the only doctor there, it isn't a group practice. BUT if my child is sick he gets him into the office the same day I call. He also takes the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly, doesn't make me feel stupid for asking a million questions or acts like he's in a hurry to get on to the next patient. To me that totally outweighs having to sit in the waiting room for a long time.

I too had a C-Section and it was the better option. Its over in a hour and you can spend more time recovering and bonding. It is uncomfertable the first two days or so but I found it to be very tolerable. The only downside is the extra day that they usually "require" you to be in the hospital for. However, I am pretty sure that enforcement is based on your OB.

My advice, get up and walking as soon as you physically can. My doctor would not allow me to eat solids and a real meal until I walked two laps around the birthing center.

and don't let people come into the room and make you laugh. You'll do just fine :)
