OOPS! I should have mentioned that I have Comcast in my La Plata Apt. but need info for my property in BUSHWOOD, where I don't have it yet, and they DON'T carry Comcast there.

Thanks

Bushwood you may be SOL for cable or DSL. You may have to go with EVDO (Verizon or Sprint). Satellite for TV.

Check your Bushwood # for DSL. My guess is DSL won't be available

Down here in the southern part of St. Mary's County, we have Metrocast. Sorry I can't help you with the channel(s) question.:patriot:

Most people only have 1 service or the other, so a direct comparison of channels is a little difficult when we don't know what you have.

Metrocast is ok and from one of your other posts, it seems to be available in your area. Just type in your location and it'll give you the channel lineup.

hmm...well I just did a quick google search on "St Mary's cable" or "St Mary's county cable". The first link lists two providers (Comcast and Metrocast) that have links to their channel lineups if you put in your zipcode. That might be able to give you a side-by-side comparison.

OK, here goes again, I ONLY wanted to know about service in BUSHWOOD.

COMCAST IS NOT AVAILABLE IN BUSHWOOD.

Most of St Mary's County does NOT have Comcast. (it is there, but only in a very small portion)

I tried that already.

and I found..........

That in Bushwood area there is ONLY ONE.

METROCAST

In case anyone else needs it, The other St. Mary's county areas that carry it are listed in my other post.

I'm not trying to compare channels, I just heard that I would lose a lot of the ones I have now on comcast, when I put in the service in Bushwood.

I did get a great rundown on what Metrocast carries and compared them, not bad at all. The way I heard it, I would lose almost all the ones I use now, but I won't. Pretty good actually. I also hear that their Internet service is better.

The price is better, and I think I will be pleased with it.

Thanks all for the input.

You should be able to get DishNetwork, DirecTV or Metrocast for TV.

I have friends in Bushwood who have Verizon for internet, or you could go with Metrocast for that too.

Like I said, all you have to do is type in your zip code and it will tell you if they're servicing your area. I don't know the zip code to Bushwood. Put a little leg work into it, instead of complaining that I'm offering you a website that'll show you what you need to know. Sorry for helping, my mistake.

And what do you mean you don't care about channels? Either way, the website lists everything that is offered. All you have to do is check it all out.

I was refering to OTHERS that made the channells an issue, and not the cable company. What made you think I was talking to you?

I was not being rude or correcting YOU!

but I will now.
Like I ALREADY SAID, I'm a researcher, I know how to LOOK! and I had been to the post you listed, and it doesn't do what it says it does. It is of no help at all. At least not to the areas I checked out.

Talk about rude...................

I give thanks to those who treat me nice, and don't accuse me of talking down to them. I didn't.

Nachomama thank you for your kind help.

Entering your zip code is not 100% accurate. My mailing address is Mechanicsville, but we don't have cable or DSL available in my neighborhood.

Oh, and quit beling a jackass. :howdy:

I cannot get Metrocast in Chaptico, or Verizon DSL. Get Direct TV for your TV and your internet. You'll be glad you did. From what I hear, Metrocast is always down.

I can't get Verizon DSL in our area either, but I have friends who live in the heart of Bushwood who have Verizon.

It depends on the location of the substation and how antiquated your infrastructure is.
