What color was this "cable"?

Over in the Computers, Technology, & the Internet forums here, a couple of guys that work for verizon said no FIOS in Calvert or St Marys until next year.... at least

athere appears to be two cables going in....one an orange one, and the second a black one. The conduit part coming up out of the ground looks to have an orange cap or some sort.

Going to WHERE exactly??

i turns East towards the Bay just after Spring Ridge Middle school...

So Verizon is putting in FIOS to places that already have Broadband Cable and DSL, and there are areas in SoMD that have neither yet?? Makes NO sense.

Yeah? And what's the black conduit?? A return line, pressure relief f or all he unused bits and bytes that are coming in too quick for you computer to receive??

And they were out there today at 0630, on a Sunday!

Its al driven by customer density, you dont make money on the seventh district, you make it in the Park.

If they are going to roll out the service next year, this is a good time to be installing the backbone. It takes time to install, set up, test, etc.

Yeah, okay.
Maybe this is why my Verizon DSL has been screwing up for the past 3 months. Just so I will be so relieved FIOS will turn up!

Our DSL has been awful also. One day it's up, the next it's down. The Verizon Customer Service tech from India said it was our old DSL modem and we needed to purchase a new one for $49...

I love Texas Road House
It could just be extra cable they are laying in case they decide they need to use it for something in the future.

What is being installed is conduit. Not any cable yet.

Don't know about that.. They were splicing the joints all day on Sunday and you can see the fiber connectors above ground on the other side of the guardrail..

Lots of work just for conduits. Just sayin.
