Calling all CALICO lovers ......

I know this gal won't last long .....

She is so beautiful !!!!

The owner said: "adult female calico named "Joey" declawed, litter trained, gentle, sweet disposition...would do well with older kids/adult, has never been around little kids or babies. has never hurt anyone!!!! moving, to good home please!"

I then asked if Joey got along with dogs and other cats and she said ....

"I have a large dog and no, Joey doesn't get along with her at all, stays under the bed when she is out of her crate. Joey got along with a male cat I had, but not another female which is weird because she grew up with the female cat. She is a loving very gentle cat and think she would do very well with an adult who could give her the attention she loves."

I am sure that someone here would love to snuggle up with Joey. She will be up-to-date on shots and have a negative FIV/FELV test prior to adoption. The fact that she is declawed means she needs to be an indoor-only kitty.

So they are moving and cannot take the cat...are they taking the dog?

I have no clue, however it does sound like the cat would be better off away from the dog. It may not even be "all dogs" - may just be the cat is afraid of just that dog?

I don't try to make sense of why people get rid of critters anymore, My goal is to find them all a (hopefully) forever home in which they will be loved and well-cared for.

Awww, what a beautiful kitty! I had a Calico for 18 years while growing up and she was the sweetest thing ever. Wish I could take her but we have a rescue cat who needs to be the only cat and a really big dog. Hope she finds a home soon.

Most cats do adjust to dogs being around, so I'm not sure why this one has an issue with the dog she has? That's why I said maybe it was just THAT dog that was an issue, you know?

The cat weighed in at the vet today at 16 lbs - wow what a big girl! She had her shots updated by the owner, and I will have the details on those in a few days.

So some of her important features are that she is a young Calico spayed female, is de-clawed, up-to-date on shots, has a microchip, uses her litter box well, and loves to be with people.

In My Opinion
Already have a Calico, and a non classified cat that is a PITA, and the dog, Cant take another, however, for those considering, generally speaking, Calico's have a very nice disposition. But, they do tend to shed just a wee bit.

Also, in some cultures, the Calico, or Torti Cat is considered to be a LUCKY cat, bringing it's owner's wealth!

I'll get some more pictures of this cutie this week. She's soft as can be and very sweet when meeting new people too. She didn't shy from me at all which is awesome.

She had her shots updated as follows:

Rabies, FVRCP, FeLV and she is due for a booster of FVRCP and FeLV on 1/07/2012

She was negative for the following:

Fecal, FELV, FIV, and Heartworm

Adoption fee is $100

You know you'd like having a beautiful kitty sitting in your lap :howdy:.

So far she is very affectionate. She's even prettier in person too.

Happy New Year Meow Meow

Hi:

My name is Joey but I'm a girl! I am looking for a home where I can get petted and loved. I need to stay indoors because I am declawed. Here are a few more pictures of me. I'm told that I am a beautiful girl.

I've been staying with a few boy cats lately and we all get along just fine. I'm a little on the chubby side at 16 lbs.

Please help me find a home for the new year.

Joey

After re-reading this thread, I realized that I never updated the dog issue information. I later found out the "large" dog Joey had an issue with was a large breed puppy that apparently saw Joey as an object to chase. Hence why Joey hid under the bed. So I have a feeling that Joey would be okay with most dogs. Her personality is not skittish at all.

A lady in my building at work is interested in Joey and is talking her hubby into it - they have 3 cats already and he said: why do we need 4 cats? So she says, so the 4th girl kitty can keep boy kitty #3 from picking at old girl #1 kitty. I bet Joey would do great with a couple of active brothers to play with.

There was another lady at work interested in Joey, but she already has a female kitty. I explained to her that Joey doesn't seem to get along with female kitties, but does well with boy kitties. So that lady is going to consider Foxy to add to her furry household - if these 2 adoptions go through I will be thrilled for both kitties.
