Calling all CALICO lovers ......

Adopt me please !
Joey is still looking for a home. We were told she didn't get a long all that well with other female cats, but with Joey being declawed, she can't do more than swat LOL. She seems to get along well with the male cats. Joey loves to be petted, and would be great with kids (big girl at 16 lbs).

Being sincere here:
Have you tried to place her at places like Hospice, Asbury, or other facilities where a declawed cat would love to be with old people?
We placed a cat with a Hospice paient ( Ms. Paulie) here in Calvert thru Hospice, and after the patient died, the cat was then adopted by a resident of Asbury, whos' daughter was one of the Hospice nurses who cared for Ms. Paulie.

But Ms. Paulie did not want to adopt, ( as she was dying) so we told her the cat needed to be worked with to be a lap cat. Ms. Paulie thought this was fine and "fostered" the cat for about 14 months until Ms. Paulie died.
We continued to provide some medical for the cat.

It worked out great!
Something to think about.

Adopt me please !
For those of you that had a desire to PM me about Joey, but stopped yourself hoping someone else would adopt her ..... Joey is going to an adoptive home this weekend on a trial basis. I think Joey is one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen.

This home has a female cat and a large dog - both are things that the prior owner said Joey had a problem with. Joey has been housed with all male cats for months, and she does fine, so I am hoping her prior disagreements with the female cat in her life was just a personality clash and not that she can't be around another female cat.

As far as the dog part goes, it is my understanding that as long as the dog doesn't chase Joey, she will be fine about a dog being in the house. The dog doesn't chase the current female cat they have. This home WANTS a cat that likes a lot of attention. We'll see how it goes.
