Can you sue your way into the W.H.?

Excuse me if this has already been posted but looks like Clintonostra's have begun the assault.

A prominent Philadelphia attorney and Hillary Clinton supporter filed suit this afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission. The action seeks an injunction preventing the senator from continuing his candidacy and a court order enjoining the DNC from nominating him next week, all on grounds that Sen. Obama is constitutionally ineligible to run for and hold the office of President of the United States.

Berg cited a number of unanswered questions regarding the Illinois senator's background, and in today's lawsuit maintained that Sen. Obama is not a natural born U.S. citizen or that, if he ever was, he lost his citizenship when he was adopted in Indonesia. Berg also cites what he calls "dual loyalties" due to his citizenship and ties with Kenya and Indonesia.
What a kook.

And I love how the Kool Aid crowd somehow brings McCain into it in their comments at the bottom.

One of them attributed the "Chickens coming home to roost" to Ward Churchill. Far as I know it was the Rev. Wright.

It's amazing what some people will do for 15 minutes of fame. Adoption does not change citizenship. It can change residence status but not citizenship.

...you can sue your way to the US Senate. That's how Obama got there.

Actually, this lawsuit is a wise move from the Democratic standpoint. Get the question of Obama's eligibility out of the way before the convention, to ensure that the DNC has nominated a legitimate candidate because you know as soon as the DNC has settle on their nominee officially, the Republicans are going to challange Obama on the same grounds.

If there is any truth behind the argument, and it comes out after the DNC convention, it will be difficult, if not impossible for the Dems to legally put a replacement on the ballot, and so, McCain runs unopposed by another major party candidate. If the Republicans lose the case, it will still have drawn out the issue right up until election day, casting more and more doubt on Obama's eligibility, regardless of what the courts rule.

By the Dems having the courts settle this issue now, the Republicans can't bring it up later and the whole issue is dead by next week and forgotten long before November.

I have a hard time swallowing that Hillary is doing any favors.

it depends on what she thinks she might get in return.

plus, if you were in the dem party looking for someone to start the suit, someone that the public would believe to be low and ignorant enough to do it to their own party, what better choice than Hillary.

That's a good point but it seems that this should've been done a couple of weeks earlier instead of on the eve of the convention.

...Clinton's were already reeling from the race accusations. It would figure this is why the Obama-ites went after them so hard on race; they made it impossible for the Clinton's to bring this up. Now, it doesn't matter. The only left to do is see to it that Obama loses, leaving the door open for Hillary in 4 years.

Maybe, but it could be that they were hoping it would blow over or it could be that they are counting on the limited time period forcing a judge into making a rash decision.

If the Republicans lose the case,....

They can't lose, they're not involved

Phillip Berg, the filing attorney, is a former gubernatorial and senatorial candidate, former chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery (PA) County, former member of the Democratic State Committee, and former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania. According to Berg, he filed the suit--just days before the DNC is to hold its nominating convention in Denver--for the health of the Democratic Party

This is part of Hillary's convention power play to get the nomination. She hasn't conceeded to Obammy, she only "stopped campaigning"

If nothing else, you have to admit that the clintons have been a source of great entertainment in this country since billy bob first ran.

Hillary Clinton doesn't have anything to do with this. It's just one of her loony supporters.
