I didn't say I couldn't do it...Computing and evaluating the statistics behind this and that and the other is enough math for one day. It's mind boggling. The Bio/stats/etc. courses weren't bad, chem is beyond easy-the problems you're given any fifth grader can complete.
Would the example of a penny and a half a chore really make the example better? Fifty cents a day at two cents a chore...
A thank you is sufficient for doing chores, etc. I never said it wasn't. The question was what to do about the kid asking for money, to which my reply was make him earn it...
The underlying value is that whether you are giving the kid the money when they ask or buying them a toy in Wal-mart every time you go you are creating a monster. At least paying them for chores makes it easier to say no. Values, earning things you want yourself, etc. The poster must have difficulty saying no or she wouldn't have asked.
