In testimony to Jan. 6 committee, former White House deputy chief of staff Anthony Ornato said he didn't recall heated motorcade interaction with Trump

Hutchinson testified before the committee that she spoke with Ornato in a room with Robert Engel, the Secret Service special agent in charge on Jan. 6.

"I don't recall being made aware of anything that took place with the president in his motorcade from the Ellipse back to the White House," Ornato testified on Nov. 29 — according to the just-released transcript — when confronted about his conflicting account.

"So Mr. Ornato, it's your testimony that the meeting itself was not even really a meeting. The way that you've described it, Mr. Engel stuck his head in your office, you had a brief exchange, and, as you described it, that was the end of it," Rep. Liz Cheney, the committee's vice chair, countered. "That's inconsistent with the testimony that we've received, as I said, from multiple other witnesses."

Following Hutchinson's testimony, sources close to the Secret Service also threw Hutchinson's testimony into question, noting that Secret Service officials were prepared to testify under oath that neither man was physically attacked or assaulted by Trump, and that the former president never lunged for the steering wheel of the vehicle.

Ornato, a 25-year veteran of federal law enforcement who served under five presidents, retired from the Secret Service in August.

In several appearances before the committee, Ornato's account deviated from that of Ms. Hutchinson and several other interviewees.

"I don't recall any conversation taking place about the possible movement of the president to the Capitol," Ornato told members of the committee during his interview under oath, on Nov. 29.

Even on a newscast preceding Wednesday night’s GOP presidential debate, the tax-supported PBS NewsHour kept its focus on former president Donald Trump, inviting former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson for a ten-minute interview to promote her book, Enough, about her traumatic experiences in the Trump White House and how dangerous it would be for Trump to win a second term of office.

The PBS host forwarded as fact Hutchinson’s fiercely contested account of what Trump did on January 6:

Nawaz: Cassidy, one of the most explosive moments from your testimony was when you shared the story about, on January 6, Mr. Trump insisting he wanted to go to the Capitol, then trying to grab the steering wheel to get the Secret Service to take him there. What do you think he wanted to do there? What do you think he would have done if he made it to the Capitol?
Note the distinct absence of PBS reporters crying “unsubstantiated” or “no evidence” when it comes to a serious accusation against Donald Trump, though Nawaz and company deploy those phrases when defending Democrat Joe Biden. Nawaz took Hutchinson’s single-sourced account as the undisputed truth despite denials from sources close to the Secret Service

For an eager PBS audience, Hutchinson described her White House time in melodramatic terms of an "oppressive environment" that made loyalty more important than anything else. "When you falter from that....you're seen as somebody that you have a target on your back. You become subjected to either Donald Trump attacking you, or you get exiled from that world."

Nawaz: It sounds like a really oppressive environment. Is that the right word?
Hutchinson: In hindsight, looking back now, looking back now with the perspective that I have, I would say suffocating, in a way, because I found myself in a position where I was just in very staunch, just staunch disagreement for what happened on January 6. And I was fairly vocal about that…

Hutchinson: "The SS guy told me that Trump leaped over the seat and tried to strangle another SS guy."
SS Guy: "I never told her that and it didn't happen."
Other SS Guy: "Yeah, that never happened."
PBS: "What did Trump do after he leaped over the seat and tried to strangle the SS guy? "

So when is SMC79 going to get a PBS special for all of her deranged Trump fantasies?

Tony Bobulinski Sues J6 Show Trial Star Cassidy Hutchinson For Defamation

Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Donald Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, famously testified two years ago that President Trump tried to violently hijack a security limousine and drive himself to the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. The sources she cited at the hearing almost immediately went on record to contradict her sworn testimony. Legacy networks NBC, CBS, and CNN reported Hutchinson’s sources were prepared to go under oath to testify that her claims were false.

Now Hutchinson is being sued for “malicious conduct” by Bobulinski. He claims the former White House aide fabricated details about meetings between him and Meadows in her memoir released last September, “Enough.” Hutchinson, the lawsuit reads, “cashed in on her brief proximity to President Trump to become the ‘star’ witness of, and in collaboration with, the January 6th Committee and profited from politically left-wing business ventures.”

“In one of her business ventures, Defendant released a book in which she defamed Mr. Bobulinski and painted him in a false light,” the lawsuit continues. “Defendant did so, in part, by lying about a meeting between Mr. Bobulinski and Mark Meadows, dishonestly portraying it to be unethical and, possibly, illegal.”

The lawsuit specifically highlighted the dramatic excerpt from the book:

In the shadows of the bleachers, I observed Mark and Tony Bobulinski’s interaction through a gap in the vehicles. When they said their goodbyes, I saw Mark hand Tony what appeared to be a folded sheet of paper or a small envelope. Mark walked toward me, staring at the ground. He was silent for several moments as we made out way back to the staff holding area.
‘You and I, we have seen a lot together, done a lot together,’ Mark said, his head still tilted toward the ground. I cleared my throat. ‘Yes, Mark. We have.’ He abruptly stopped walking and stuck his arm out to stop me. Our eyes locked.
‘Oh, don’t look so frightened.’ He dropped his arm. ‘I just want to thank you for working so hard. It’s quite difficult to find someone as loyal as you.’ He flashed a smile, the kind of smile that doesn’t change the shape of your eyes. He disappeared around the corner, his Secret Service agents trailing him.

How do we know she is full of bull excrement? When she testified that Trump tried to grab the steering wheel of his limo.
Doesn't everyone know how far away from the passenger seats the steering wheel is? Is she saying Trump has 10 foot long arms?
Demonrat sheeple will believe her because they WANT more than anything for it to be true.

You mean like Marjorie Taylor Green who dressed like a clown breaking senate rules and hooted and hollered like a monkey through the SOTU?

When did Biden tell his party to block legislation to fund the border crisis in an effort to make his opponent look bad?

Oh wait. That was Trump.

The compromise collapsed after pushback from House Republicans and statements from former President Donald Trump urging Republicans to vote against the bill.

“Donald Trump’s saying ‘no’ for politics,” Manchin said. “We had what we thought was a slam dunk on doing a piece of legislation that we’ve been hoping for for the last three months.”

House GOP report debunks ex-Trump aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony on ex-prez trying to wrangle SUV to Jan. 6 panel

Loudermilk’s report notes that Hutchinson’s testimony was “directly refuted” by White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Anthony Ornato – the man who according to Hutchinson, told her the anecdote – and the Secret Service agent driving the SUV.

“Ornato testified that the first time he had ever heard the story Hutchinson claims Ornato told her on January 6, was during Hutchinson’s public testimony,” the oversight subcommittee report states.

“Hutchinson’s testimony was also contradicted by the [Secret Service] agent who was with President Trump on January 6,” the subcommittee found, which notes that “Hutchinson’s accusation came up only after the Secret Service agent’s attorney proactively brought up the subject” to select committee investigators.

“The driver testified that he specifically refuted the version of events as recounted by Hutchinson,” according to the report. “The driver of the SUV testified that he ‘did not see him reach [redacted]. [President Trump] never grabbed the steering wheel. I didn’t see him, you know, lunge to try to get into the front seat at all.’”
