Before I got transfered to PAX River I was stationed in Japan. There is a lot more stray cats in Japan but nobody seem to care about them. As long as you don't bother them for most part they seem to ignore you. Yes, the pet birds getting eaten is bad. Also I have a local cat that's an outside cat that I'd like to get rid of but all I've been doing is putting Critter Scatter(made from Capsinum...same stuff in pepper spray) on the yard and spraying the cat down with water whenever he comes around.

I guess it's easier to ignore the strays in Japan since they don't have as many animal carried diseases such as rabies.
