Cell phone service.

Here's the deal, I'm moving to So MD and I need a new cell phone but I would like to know how the coverage is for the different carriers around that area.

What better way than to ask the customers themselves. So I ask for your help in letting me know the following:

1. What carrier you have
2. What areas you use it in. By counties maybe?
3. What kind of cell phone. You can just say new or older.
4. Are you happy with your carrier or if you could get out you would.

I'm specifically looking at T-Mobile because of their plans but I'd consider just about anything. I have verizon now but I'd like to change....

Stick with Verizon, I have been with Cingular and next-to-hell and they both are HORRIBLE in somd. Verizon has service EVERYWHERE, LOVE IT!!

I switched to Verizon in December and my cell phone just turned 6 months old. Cingular/Cellular One is the devil's spawn.

Personally, I have Verizon, use it primarily in St. Mary's, and have a two year old Motorola that I've had no issues with. Unfortunately, some will say, Verizon seems to have the better coverage the further south you get in the SOMD area. The closer you get to DC in Charles or Calvert, the other carriers may work better. Good luck.

I live in Calvert and definately choose verizon over the three aforementioned.

I bought my phone in October-no problems with it, love it
I primarily use my phone in Calvert, St. Mary's or Anne Arundel COunties...

I do not recommend Sprint. When I got here almost three years ago, I had trouble calling home from work, which was only about five miles away. I had to go utside and search for an area to call and even then I only one or two bars. I called Sprint customer service at the end of my contract and they said they wer planning on building a couple of towers in the area in the near future. But Icouldn't wait for that. I swiiched to Verizon and haven't had much trouble at all, signal wise. Bill wise is a different story.

I'd have to go with Verizon as well. I live in Southern St Mary's, and its the only one that works well down there. And hopefully once they turn on the new cell phone tower in the Ridge area it will be even better. North end of St. Mary's I know that Nextel works better depending on where you go. Good Luck.

Stick with Verizon. I've been with them forever and have never had problems with coverage. We travel up and down the east coast and always have a signal.

go with verizon if for nothing else, the customer service is better. Cingulars SUCKS, at least with verizon if you have a problem, they usually fix it in house for you instead of making you send the phone back.

Besides, verizons coverage is way better, everywhere except my house that is

We have Nextel and my daughter has Verizon. We have no service unless it is Winter time or we have to go outside and she can talk all over. Plus the Verizon is cheaper.

I also have verizon and would stay stick with it!!! I have no prolbems with it anywhere. I have gone all the way to Maine and down to Ga and over to Tx and Ohio with it. Always worked and not get charged roaming charges. Good luck

Would THIS face lie?
I have to echo what everyone else is saying....I had Cingular and it totally sucked...I switched to Verizon and have been a happy camper ever since...Just my $.02... :howdy:

Can't wait until my contract runs out and I can get verizon. I would love to know how the Disney Mobile works around here.

I think it may also depend on the type of telephone you purchase. I have Cingular and my phone (razr) has no problems. Yet my son (also no cingular) has an LG and always has problems.

Thanks for your comments. It seems that most everyone has verizon and they have no probs. Dang!

No one with T-mobile tho?

I have Cingular and I like the service. No real big issues for me with them. I had them when they were Pacific Bell Wireless out in Southern California and never switched since.
