TLDR - SORRY I don't know where else to ask...

I have a OnePlus 11 5g Factory Unlocked cellphone.
Oxygen OS 15 (Android 15)
Version CPH2451_15.0.0.203(EX01)
Hardware version CPH2451_11

I bought it "Renewed" (Refurbished) on Amazon February, 2024. In the past, I've been happy with the OnePlus phones and have always liked the way they were user friendly and easy to use, etc. (I've had different models for about 10 years) NO trouble with this phone at all EXCEPT 1 thing. I am not getting all the FB Push Notifications on my phone. I need them!

I use my cellphone a LOT in my business and I depend on my push notifications for emails, etc. I have not trouble with push notifications for EVERY single APP except Facebook.

The ONLY FB push notifications I receive are when I "upload" something from my cellphone. I don't get notified when someone tags me, replies to my comments, nada. JUST when I upload something.

* I get the notifications for Messenger when someone messages me, or in group chats when someone replies, etc.
* I've changed every setting I can find or think of. I've turned every notification ON - on the APP, on the Desktop, I've uninstalled/re-installed FB, used "FB Lite" -I've researched this with my cellphone Community Forums, (and their "help chat" with a live person) my cellphone service provider, Google, and Chat GPT for OVER a year.

Chat GPT said those upload notifications are sent differently:
The reason Facebook upload push notifications come through while incoming notifications (e.g., messages, likes, or comments) do not is likely due to the way Android and OxygenOS handle different types of background processes and notifications. Here’s why this might be happening:
1. Upload Notifications Are System-Priority
  • When you upload something on Facebook, the app actively runs in the foreground or background, and system-priority notifications (like upload progress and completion alerts) are pushed directly to your phone.
  • These types of notifications bypass battery optimization and background restrictions because they are tied to an active process initiated by the user.

NOTHING Chat GPT suggested has worked. I got nowhere with the OnePlus Community forums or even their live Chat person - because of course, I don't have the latest model and I didn't buy it from OnePlus, so no one cares.

Can anyone help me figure this out?! 🙏

Do you have battery optimization/Power saver activated?
No, I don't think so -- Because I've uninstalled/reinstalled and Reset the settings for various things - I've checked it many times, to make sure. Plus, you have to change it in a couple of places.

I'll upload the screenshots

1. Check your FB notifications in your FB settings.
2. Restart your phone.

That's all I got 🤷‍♀️

I can't recall if the "Allow Background Activity" should be ON or OFF.

🤔

Select High Performance mode and make sure you don't have another device logged on to FB. ,Other than that, no clue

I can select high performance, which I think I've had ON before, but my computer is typically never logged off from FB, even if I am not on it. Hmm. that seems odd, but I can try it!

The computer might be prioritized by FB to get the notifications

So, I logged out of FB on the computer and still no notifications. 😐

@GURPS - do you have any experience with One Plus? I seem to remember you had that brand at one time?

The only other thing I can think of to try is to uninstall the FB app on your phone and reinstall it.

Assume you've already looked at this, but here it is.

I've searched so much that I am pretty sure I found this one, too. It looks familiar I've seen so many posts from that Forum and a few others, it's hard to keep them all straight.

There's obviously a conflict in the OS or the build of this phone somewhere. I just don't know enough to go digging deeper into areas like "Developer Tools" and that kind of thing. 🙄 Probably won't get another one, and risk it. I'm pretty sure this was the only one that's done that for me though.

I did, but not since the OnePlus 3

Did this happen on its own or have you received an up date to the System - like a security patch or update to the Facebook App

I saw Ken and DJ suggested turning this on ....

My thoughts a security update is restricting FB access when NOT the foreground application or power setting putting the app to sleep when you are not actively using the app
