Ceramic cooker

Anybody using one? I'm ready to buy but can't decide between a visions B, Big Green Egg, or
a Kamodo Joe.

The Big green egg is everything its cracked up to be :drummer: (stupid pun I know). It can hold low & slow temps for 24+ hours no problem, it can also get up to searing temps for steaks. Pricey but will last forever.

Price is part of the equation. The vision b I can get for 600, the others go over a 1000. Last forever and a reallly good product is what I'm looking for.

Just curious why you are interested in a ceramic cooker? As a BBQ aficionado myself, I've never really considered a ceramic cooker for my arsenal. Not that there is anything wrong with it, just would like to hear your thoughts.

Temperature range that they can maintain mostly. You can drop down to 225ish for slow (and smoke) or up to 700ish for searing. They also work very well as a pizza/bread oven, which is on the top of my list. A friend has a Primo XL and I've been impressed. Got ahold of a BGE for some demo time and it was pretty awesome. Indirect grilling is difficult because the ceramic holds heat. May have to keep my wood burner for those times.

Yea, I don't know if I'd have a place for one especially if it can't do indirect. Thats a large portion of my cooking. I've got enough BBQ equipment as it is and the BGE isn't cheap. They don't have a large cooking surface either so that limits the use for entertaining.
