Chain final drive

The V Strom is the first chain drive bike I've owned and I wasn't to happy with the mess of lubing the chain. Saw a recommendation for a new Teflon Spray Lube from DuPont.
Been using it and it's great. Picked up a can at Lowes for $7.
NO MESS on your wheels or sprockets. It goes on very wet, just use an old newspaper to keep the overspray off your tires (teflon on the rear tire probably isn't a good idea). It dries in about 30 sec and you're good to go.

If you spayed that teflon on the rear seat though...think how tight those ladies would have to hold on!

A little Armor All does the trick there. This stuff leaves a whiteish/clear residue. Beats the he11 out of the usual stringy, sticky oil based chain lubes

It sounds like what I used. It was called chain wax though. Sure is an improvement over the way we used to have to do it.

I got a Loobman for my bike (www.loobman.com). Just squeeze the bottle once before each ride and it oils the chain. My engineering mind tells me that is better than most chain lubes because it will flow into the links and pins where the lube is actually needed instead of coating the outside of the chain. Yeah, there is some oil flinging going on, but not much.

I used to take my chain off (dirt bike) and soak it in hot oil on the stove. Better than those scented candles.
