Just hang in there and keep trying, I smoked for over fourty years and now have not had any cigs in one month and have not murdered anyone (yet), really, it's not bad, you may be doing yourself more harm then good by keeping going with the four per day. After about a week smoke free I could smell things I hadn't before, I can walk 10 times further now then before and sleep much better. The online support program is really good, its at www.chantix.com. It's been a great help to me, especially the part that tracks how much money you have saved day by day. Best of luck to you.
Oh I have noticed alot of different smells! The dogs need a bath, hubby's garlic breath OMG! People sitting down for a meeting smelling like smoke, etc.,
Yep I think the four per day may be a little dangerous, but I am so afraid of not having any in the house, thats when the panic sets in! My hubby hides the pack and I have to swollow my pride and ask him for my quota at night. :sigh: I have been visiting the website and I am ready to hit that big headed guy too! Thanks for the words of encouragement, in all reality though this stuff really works all I need to do is convince myself to take that last big step.

 Congrats to all of you! You can do this.
After I quit, I really tasted food. I like how everything smells now, too.

Good luck. Keep us informed on your progress. Once again ...

Mine has been after me to quit, but wouldn't prescribe anything until I thought I was ready. I'm kind of tired of smoking. Guess I'll schedule an appt. with him. I worry about weight gain.

I was tired of it, and just asked. Crap tell your doc you are very serious and want to, he doesn't need to know your mind set. This stuff will really help, when I first started it, I had to remind myself to light up. Now it is more habit than nicotine cravings that I have to conquer. Don't worry about the weight gain, that used to be my excuse. The only bad thing I have noticed with food cravings is my red licorice (new habbit) in the morning instead of my coffee at work and the constant chewing of gum. My jaws are darn sore!

Prep, is the nausea from the Chantix? Are you actually sick or just feel "icky?" I have a friend who needs to know.

Yep it is from the chantix, it is not bad and does go away quickly if you eat some tums or food. It's more of mild stomach upset. :yay:

TY NP I am enjoying the pleasant smells and am totally enjoying not coughing for the first 5 minutes after I wake up. :huggy:

I am enjoying the not coughing all the time to but the best is my cats, they seem to like me much better now. And I and run and breath so much better. This stuff is super, my Mom has started it at 84 and is doing great after chain smoking most of her life. Funny thing, I work in respiratory and continued to smoke all these years after seeing first hand the damage it does. Something to think about now....Its like getting sober or something

Well good for your Mom! Bless her heart for wanting to stop at 84. But speaking as someone (me) that is still mentally hooked. If I made it to 84, I would be enjoying each and everyone and exhale in the direction of all the reformed smoker nazi's! :lmao: But seriously that is great. :huggy:

But wait, there's more...
I wonder if someone slipped this stuff to me last summer when I quit. All of a sudden, every time I'd light up, I just felt like I was gonna puke, so I used that as an opportunity to quit. June will be a year for me. :diva:

You folks CAN do it; keep up the good work! :yay: The first week or two is the hardest. :huggy:

If ya'll don't mind, could someone tell me how much it costs? Does your insurance cover some of the cost?
I tried another kind a few years ago that wasn't coverd by insurance and paid over $100. Plus my husband was quitting at the same time, so the cost was double.

My first script was 104$ Not sure about the next ones. I figure I'd be spending that in a month on smokes anyways. My ins. didn't cover it. So far so good with it. After 35 + years of smoking... :bigwhoop:

I start this the 1st week in March, which is after my doctor's appointment. I've done tons of research but quitting on my own hasn't gotten me to the point of ridding the habit completely.

I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's progress too. :yay: Oh (edited this) my husband will also be taking the medication as well.

Smokes are also getting ready to go up another $1 to $2 a pack, depending on the brand in the next few months.

I buy by the carton and smoke Misty menthol lights, $33.00 a carton, $3.30 a pack, because Wa Wa doesn't discount cartons over packs. Same price!

Wa Wa is the cheapest I have found for ciggys. I used to take a trip over the bridge with my boss :jet: when I worked in La Plata. (you remember where I used to work) :lmao:

Oh, Nanny Pam, I was buying cartons because my husband's last quit smoking program was to quit buying and bum from his wife.
