I have lived in CRE a few years and just recently I have seen more and more crime. And as for the roads they suck and dont get fixed for months after you complain to the office. You pay alot each year to live here and I dont see where that money is going. The lake is nasty and the beach could use a clean up. You cant take your kids to the park and not have to listen to older teens cursing at the basketball court near by. So I would not recommend CRE to anyone.

I have lived there for almost 10 years. CRE is a small town and like any other small town it has good areas and some bad areas and they change from year to year.
A lot of people ##### about the roads, but the main roads are in good shape and when it does snow they are cleared right away. Most of the people who complain live way back on the secondary roads and they expect their roads to be cleared beore anyone else. As for the homeowners fees they are some of the lowest in the area.
The lake is in good shape, but like any other lake it needs maintenance. The beaches are keep clean and all have life quards during the season.
I would recommend CRE as a place to live. A commuinity is only as good as the people who live there.

Well spoken Dan...

CRE is a great place to live...I've been here for 10 years and I love it more now than I did 10 years ago...

Someone caught a 7 1/ pound Bass out of the lake a few weeks ago... and put it back so we can catch it again...

The Bay boat launch is scheduled for replacement... The campgrounds is a great place to ride bikes or take a nature walk...

I always hear this chatter about the crime in there... but you rarely see CRE in the crime reports in the newspapers.... I haven't been bothered with any crime in the 10 years I've lived there...

Maybe it's realtors trying to steer people to more expensive neighborhoods, you never know....

Sure there are some roads in CRE that will never be paved... but you're right... in the winter... our main roads are passable.... when the county roads aren't.

I love living in CRE and I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants to live near the Bay and raise a family..... We are lucky to have some of the best schools in the State... we have wonderful teachers who live right in CRE.... we have all kinds of churches and there is plenty for the youth to do... I simply love it here...

I must agree! I have lived in CRE for almost 20 years now. I have truly seen major changes. It is just like any other neighbor hood ....has it bad areas and good areas and they constantly are changing and moving. Those that complain expect more than they should. Our homeowners association fees are extremely low when compared nationally. I have loved CRE and still do in spite of the changes. A home is only what you make of it no matter where it is.

I live right down the street from Jamiemar21... I love my neighbors and my home... We have been here for 6 years and have never once had a problem.

I've lived there since August.

As a child I lived there with my parents from 1981-1990ish.

It's not as quiet and peaceful and secluded as it was those many hundreds of years ago - but it's still nice. Our little nook is very quiet and peaceful though - and I would also recommend it to anyone.

Wasnt there articles stating that the lake is unsafe to swim in and not to eat the fish and all the algea blooms and so on. Then find out they cant afford to have life guards out at the beaches and lakes. Where did the money we pay each year go? The nasty bee infested playground at the beach.

:bs:

I took my kids there last weekend.

Didn't see a bee.

And my daughter freaks out over house-flies, let alone bees. If there were any, I would have heard about it.

I don't know about Driftwood (2nd beach, I think - right?). I haven't been there in eons. I didn't even know there was a playground there now.

We used the one at the Lake Beach.... Lake Lariat. It's nice.

All these beaches have names now. We always just used to call them, 1st Beach, 2nd Beach, and The Lake Beach.

Yes its covered with grass you cant hardly see it because they dont take care ofit.

And I forgot to mention they used to have a neighborhood dump on Thunderbird. I dont know why they let that stay that way for so long. They complained my neighbor had a fallen tree and some garbage bags full of leaves in their yard and sent them threats but allowed the people on Thunderbird be a dump.
