It's good to teach your children to hold resentments, be vindictive and that they shouldn't trust their father.

It helps them become well adjusted adults

The fun stepmom?! What an outrage! She should totally be an evil biatch to your kids! And good for you being mature and setting a good example by making them call their stepmom "her." Totally a way for them to feel good about the whole situation.

I agree with most everyone who said the same... whatever happened to terminate the marriage happened between you and your husband, not the kids. To put them in the middle of it is petty and selfish. You're not the first mother to do it, you certainly won't be the last. My son's father wants nothing to do with him, and as pissed off as that makes me, I still won't talk badly about him around my son... because someday there may be a relationship, and I don't want years of resentment fostered by me to impede that.
