Christmas - 21 yrs old vs. 5 years old

When my booger-pickers turn 18, their Christmas intake will be reduced to 1 ten dollar knicknack each.

By that time, I'm sure those boys will be eating over half my salary as it is. Along with tuition.

Ok my son is 21, my daughter is 5...yes second marriage. son does not live at home so I am getting him just a few things...he is an adult...didn't really load my daughter up but yes she got more....the grandmother thinks that is so unfair and that the older one should get more...I am not rich but am I wrong?

You're not wrong, the grandmother is. There's a huge age difference. And your son should be old enough to realize that things are different when you're an adult. We feel the same as you. We aren't spending the same amount of $$ on our college age son as we are the two that are still at home.

Besides, they're your children. You celebrate the holidays the way you want to! Not when she wants. If she thinks he needs more, tell her to feel free!

my sister has 4 kids and my brother has one neither of them still live at hom

my parents buy a fiew things for my sister and brother then buy for their kids

i don't have kids, so i tend to get a little more

however i also understand that they do this becuase they want to not becuae they have to.. i appreciate things alot more then i did when i was younger when it was expected..

i have no children living at home....they are all grown....but my stepdaughter and her boyfriend are coming here so there are a lot of presents under the tree for them...my son however is in the army and cannot make it home so he is getting just a few gifts and the rest cash to do as he pleases...we try to keep the monetary amount the same for all.....it also seems your son is getting the brunt of the answers as far as what he feels about it...when he is not involved in it......if it makes you feel better because obviously you are feeling a little guilty or you would know your own answer...maybe you could give him some cash in a card or pay one of his small bills for him...i would say talk to your son and really see how he feels....and as far as the grandmother ...does she lavish you with gifts? hmmmmm.............maybe she should practice what she preaches............besides whatever you do give comes from your heart.....no price can be put on that....personally i love to give...and go nuts on all of them....never caring what i recieve in return....i'm happy with a cinnamon candle and having my kids and husband with me......anyway...have a great holiday!..you will worki it out...

My Sweetest Boy
We have yours, mine & ours. I always spent the same on each. Still works pretty much the same. But oldest has 2 kids, middle has a baby, and the youngest is single. So I sort of divide it up by family now...

The only good yorkie is an airbourne yorkie.

Actually, if you don't have a raccoon, they make a pretty good hat.
