Cloth Diapers

So it's safe to say that you won't use cloth diapers for your next :baby:?

I would never use them, but that's just me. I buy fruits and veggies that are already sliced and ready to go at the grocery store.

Oh, and I'm not having anymore. I'm too selfish for that! :buddies:

I used the fuzzi buns for my youngest for the first several months due to a severe allergic reaction to the pampers in the hospital. Other than the initial start up cost, I liked the cloth diapers.

and i never had poo floating in the washing machine either :lmao:(you don't use regular bleach with these either, they make a special cleaner you add to the water. The bleach would break down the material too quickly.)

My m-i-l wants to pay for a diaper service for us for a year. It doesn't appeal to me. None of this really appeals to me.

I had diaper service for both of mine. Great barf rags. I just couldn't see using a diaper on my baby that has been peed and pooped on by Lord knows whose kid. :barf:

Ever since I can remember, my rule has always been, "If it's been shat in or barfed on, throw it away!" :lmao:

:yeahthat: I'd never use cloth, but that's JMO. I've got 3 kids, and I've used disposables on all of them. When my son was potty training, if he had an accident, I threw the underwear away. I'd never wash poopy underwear with other things, and I wasn't going to wash them alone, that's just a waste. It's all about convenience for me... :howdy:

For real. If his diapers leaks crap on his clothes ( I'm not talking a bit, but a blow out) the clothes get tossed. I'm not throwing that in my machine.

I am, too... I have a hard enough time wrestling my twins to the ground and getting them to lay still for 6 seconds while I wipe and put on a new pull-up and I just want to be DONE with it...In the trash it goes, never to be seen again

My daughter is not wearing pull-ups anymore during the day anyway, so it's just my one son in them and then my daughter at night as well. I don't spend too much on diapers anymore, but I'd imagine that I have spent more than $7,000 or so on diapers in the past 4 years for the 3 kids. Maybe more. I'd have to really sit down and figure it out. Yikes.

I've actually been researching cloth diapers recently. If I were to go that route, this is what I would go with:

bum Genius One Size Pocket Diaper | Comfy Bummy Diapers

I have a bunch of these and love them! I CD my youngest 2. 2 yrs and 3 1/2 weeks. The BG's are great because they are one size so you can use then from bith on up to 35#'s. I also have some other brands like fuzzy bunz for my middle son since he is over 35#'s.

I've been cloth diapering for about 2 years now. It really isn't that bad at all. Cloth diapers are not what they used to be. I switched my son over at 15months and my daughter has been in cloth since birth.

BumGenius are great dipes, but not my favorite. I mostly use pocket diapers, the brands I like for my daughter are Happy Heiny's, Swaddlebees and Green Acre Designs. No prefolds, pins and covers here, that takes too much time.

Bleach is not necessary, but if you do prefer, only a small amount is needed. Hanging dipes out in the sun will take care of most stains. Do not use fabric softener, that will coat the fabric and cause your diaper to become less absorbent. A great resource for washing- http://pinstripesandpolkadots.com/detergentchoices.htm

Also, Diaperpin.com and Diaperswappers.com are pretty good places to learn more about cloth diapering.
