I seriously just don't care.
Most Americans aren't interested in soccer/football (as they call it). We only had a glimmer of interest when to our surprise, the women's team has actually won the World Cup two times in a row (honestly - how many of you KNEW that a year ago?).
When it turned out that the Vietnamese sang their anthem proudly - when the Afghan women participated at the risk of THEIR LIVES, just to represent their nation - and our snubbed both the anthem, and our country --
As one person put it - it's a luxury to be paid outrageous salaries to PLAY A GAME - and an honor to represent OUR NATION - and if you don't get that, you deserve neither.
Sort of glad they lost IF it teaches them - when you represent US - your nation - show some pride in it.
But they didn't learn it, and won't learn it.
I don't care about Bud Light and Target - I already don't shop for or at either - but you're not going to win me back wiggling your shemale wang at me and calling me out for not liking it.
It's still a free country, and my voice is as free as yours is - this is me, saying, I don't care. Deal with it.

The OP states that americans are happy the team lost because of some perceived threat to their gentials or because they are interested in the genitals of the players? It's truly unclear other than the fact that it is a manufactured controversy meant to keep you angry and distracted from the real issues.
They do have pride or they woudn't be playing for the team. The thing is they have pride in under represented groups and equality for everyone while most republicans only have pride in systems and groups that affirm their belief in white hetero normative patriarchy and its superiority to any other groups.

They DO NOT have Pride! They are a couple of double X chromosome humans that play soccer at a bit higher level then a typical college team. They get paid better than they would as a Female Studies professor. Not a bit to do with "pride." At least, not American Pride. Maybe another type of pride though...
