Reviews I have read are pretty good for this compact car, but if I was you I would get the SS Supercharged Coupe, it ought to be a blast with about 50% more horsepower over stock.

Hyundai actually builds a nice car. The 10 year warranty is just a bonus, to keep service coming back to the dealer.

I believe the Cobalt to be a solid automobile. The General has been doing things pretty good lately. Cobalt is another example of that. Drive one and see for yourself.

I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra. Nice little car, less problems than my 1989 Cutlass which would randomly decide: Hey, a steep hill- this looks like the perfect place for the battery to die without warning and to lose my brakes and power steering. Once, while taking it to the shop, it died half way into the parking lot of the shop, blocking out all potential customers. I think it wanted the attention pretty bad.

Being completely serious, I've put a good 7,000 miles on it in about 5 months and it has been great. The only problem is acceleration, but what do you expect from a Hyundai? ;)

The car is supposed to be MUCH better than the Cavilier but that isn't saying much. This car was supposed to compete with the Acura RSX so better than just a base model compact. The supercharged one is supposed to be quick but still falls 20 horse power shy of the Dodge SRT. Seems like everyone is freshening up their small cars, Mitsubishi is comming out with a new Eclispe next year also.

Would you race it?

Drove the Cobalt, it was OK. While I am a Chevy man, I bought the Focus because I liked it slightly better. It didn't seam to have as much engine noise or road noise inside the car at speed as the Cobalt. Focus was definately easier to get the kids into than the Cobalt.

if your going for the cobalt, personaly id spend the money and get the ss supercharge model, it has the 4cyl. motor with the super charger so youl get some power, if your going for the relible family type, id look at the sedan version that has less power, and also cost alot less

Nah already 20 hp down from my car stock would be a waste of time. Plus I haven't heard if it has a limited slip so that means no traction at the track so that car will just sit and spin one wheel.
