He already has his leathers. And if I'm not mistaken you already have yours. :really:

True. But the Maryland State Police have told her once already that THOSE "leathers" are to be kept in the bedroom. :whip:

Gotchya. have you ridden a Road king before? Did you take THAT one for a ride?

What I'm getting at is Road Kings have a different ride. It's a "Sport Tourer" as far as Harleys go. I know a few folks that have them and love them and I know a couple of others that had them, and would never go back to one.
I rode an Ultra the other night. I liked the ride, but didn't much care for the clutter and top heavy feeling.

I have ridden an Ultra and a Duece, so to answer your question no I have not ridden a RK, but I will before I spend a cent.

The Ultra has a similar ride to the Road King. Same suspension setup. the Duece is a softail. And anybody that I know that had a softail and went to a Road king, went back to the softail.

I rented a Road King last year for a weekend when i was in the Poconos. I can't say i didn't like it, but the one i had was gutless (bone stock) and I couldn't wait to get back on mine.

The Road Kings are setup so that you can enjoy them on long rides, but also throw them around on the twisty's. They're setup so that you're riding position is sitiing nearly straight up, and without the windscreen, you become a sail.

Dunno. Like I said. I know a few guys that have them and would never own anything else. And they definitely are one of the more popular bikes on the road.

And that one in particular is a REALLY nice looking bike. :yay: AND it is ridable! Mine's up on the work stand waiting for tires shocks and a couple of other goodies. I might have it back on the road by October...when I leave again. :ohwell:

I rode the Duece and did not like it. Like I said I liked the Ultra's ride but was not crazy with all the extra stuff that cluttered it up.

I put the wind screen on mine becuse I found out early on I have the aeordynamics of a sheet of plywood :yay: I like windshields.

That's the color I wanted!! Nice looking bike!! :yay: If you liked the ride of the Ultra but not all the bells & whistles, I'd encourage you to try just the Classic. I can meet ya somewhere today or this weekend if you'd like to ride mine?

Where is this bike. Every dealer I went to had a "no negotiate" policy. Pizzed me off but they also had a line of Ppl. waiting for a salesman to sell em a bike.

Again, that thing is bootiful!!

:yay: Cleaning spokes is a fun way to spend your weekend

As long as you scub once a week or so, it's not bad. It's when you let the crud sit on them for a season that discolors em'. Mine are in pretty bad shape (discolored, no rust), but I kept mine outside one season too.

I prefer spokes to the cast wheels. I just think it looks classier.

And after awhile, if you want to add some flash to it, you can order chromed spokes in different variations. Re-lacing a wheel is frustrating as hell, I've done it twice, but it is also very rewarding. Especially when you take it to the shop to have them check it for trueness and balance and they say "you did this HOW???" and they do nothing to adjust it.

I knew this would happen. I cut the hair off, Pete gets a cool bike, and I'm cast aside like yesterdays' liver. :bawl:
