Commuter Times/Distances

I'm just curious - what is everyone's commute time/distance? I didn't realize just how long some people do drive to get to work. I have seen people at the Park-n-Ride at Rt. 2 at 5:00 am! Gosh - what time do you have to be at work and what time do you finish?

I commute from Prince Frederick to Annapolis - 48 miles one way - using Rt. 4 to 301 to 50.

1.5 hours in the morning, 2-3 hours in the afternoon. 70 miles one way. :dead: I leave at 4:30am, arrive 6-6:15 and work until 3-4:00, sometimes later.

(Don't preach to me about your wittle bridge traffic) :lmao:

My commute takes 2 to 2 and a half hours both ways. St. Marys to Mclean. It's basically the WW Bridge traffic that is the enemy.

I'd give anything to work locally but Marketers just don't get paid locally.

It takes me about 1.5 hours in the morning doing 70 mph and about 2 hours in the afternoon. 70 miles each way. It sucks the big one.

I don't work outside the home, but my husband's drive from home to Pax River (he's a V22 mech for DynCorp) is about the same amount of time as your commute.

*snickers* Nice.
I am an Independent Sales Rep for AVON (legalese for AVON lady) but I'm not out and about every day. That's why I didn't count myself in the household commutes.

Does anyone buy into the theory that it is a waste of time/energy to commute long distances in order to make more money? In other words, you could make considerably less closer to home and not incur the commute costs - not mention have more time with family/friends, etc.

I don't totally buy it because the overall cost of just living here is incredible. You could make less money but you couldn't afford to live in this area.
