Why go out of your way to go via 301 and 50?
johnjrval424 said:I'm just curious - what is everyone's commute time/distance? I didn't realize just how long some people do drive to get to work. I have seen people at the Park-n-Ride at Rt. 2 at 5:00 am! Gosh - what time do you have to be at work and what time do you finish?
I commute from Prince Frederick to Annapolis - 48 miles one way - using Rt. 4 to 301 to 50.

Yes I do, it can be proven mathematically though so I don't really see it as theory.johnjrval424 said:Does anyone buy into the theory that it is a waste of time/energy to commute long distances in order to make more money? In other words, you could make considerably less closer to home and not incur the commute costs - not mention have more time with family/friends, etc.
I don't totally buy it because the overall cost of just living here is incredible. You could make less money but you couldn't afford to live in this area.

PsyOps said:Not sure if this was mentioned since I didn't read every post but travelling through Prince Frederick stinks in the even (around 4:30-5:00). I wish they'd get that bypass paved (if there's going to be one).
I have three co-workers who left their job to work with a lesser commute for precisely that reason. And took a significant pay cut to do it. Where they were in a car over three hours a day (minimum), they are now commuting for less than an hour both ways, and get to see their families at a reasonable hour everyday.dustin said:What can't have a monetary value tacked on is quality of life.
I've been considering this for 6 months. Extremely hard to walk away from a lucrative career path. Almost makes me feel like I should just trash the resume. I am extremely torn.johnjrval424 said:Does anyone buy into the theory that it is a waste of time/energy to commute long distances in order to make more money?
