Cop at movie theatre in Lexington Park?

Last night, my DH and I took his oldest DS to see the Shaggy Dog. There was a cop at the theatre the whole time. Is that every weekend? I was surprised. Waldorf I could understand, but Lexington Park? Is it that bad there???

yes that is to keep all the thugs from there. it is bad down there at times so alot of places are getting cops to set out in front to keep peace. its a good thing atleast you can feel save while watching a movie.

My friend Chris and his girlfriend were leaving that theatre through that little alleyway next to the old post office and were mugged and beaten by three young men.. What they did to his girlfriends face alone was an outrage. Two were caught and got a slap on the wrist..

This was about ten years ago... :ohwell:
I always leave throught the front door and take care to park within sight of the door.

If he were there just watching the movie, I doubt he'd have been in uniform.

I don't know how they do things down in the Park, but most of the time, they just wear jeans and an agency jacket when they are working part-time. You know they are cops but they are not in uniform, but there are places were they are in full uniform when they work part-time.

My husband use to work over in DC at a theatre doing security part-time and watch bits and pieces of movies each night. He stands in the back of the theatre for 15 minutes then moves to the next one. He said eventually he would get to see the entire movie. The new released movies usually had the bigger crowds so it was ok to stand in the back of those for longer than 15-minutes. :lmao:

I would have liked to have a cop at the last movie I went to so that he could have tasered the teenagers behind me. :ohwell:

I'd have settled for the Tazer and done the job myself on a Grandmother and her jabberjawed grandson at my last visit to a theatre.

She didn't respond to a polite request that she shut her piehole.

The last two movies we saw there, the punks in the back would not stop talking. We walked out on the last one and will NEVER go back. I'm not talking about an occasional whisper back and forth once in a while, full on, middle of your living room movie commentating with language that made the PG-13 movie we were seeing rated R.

Did you tell them to be quiet? Politely at first; then more adamantly; then go get the manager. If they get rowdy again, go get the manager again. Being a big guy, they usually shut up when I stand up, but hey, you have to be persistent. Get them tossed out of the theater. Carry an ASP and be prepared to use it when you leave.

Rocky Mountain High!!
Rottncop told of a crew of 4 who went into a mcdonalds late one evening, all sitting separately and yelling back and forth to each other. One went up and asked for a cup for some water, then went to the soda machine and got himself a cup of orange soda. he looked at the counter, and yelled, "pretend it's water". Rottncop was sitting right near the dispenser mind you, in his off duty uniform of msp clothes and cap type stuff. He quietly went over and sat next to the kid, who looked at him like he had lost his mind...but in a nice calm quiet voice he said "i've never seen anyone go to jail for a cup of orange soda before...KEWL" the kid FINALLY realized HE was who was in the cop car he had parked next too and hustled over to pay for the soda :killingme

I love cop stories. BIL is always cracking us up. He once pulled over a driver for weaving and going slow. When he got to the car he found four guys with hibachi (sp) grill cooking burgers with the windows up. He had a lazy partner that would light road flares at accidents and stand in one place and throw the flares out.

Not hardly. I'm not paying $10-$12 plus popcorn so I can can police the theater, when all I have to do is wait a few months and I can see the movie for a LOT cheaper and don't miss anything by running to the potty.
