Cops In NO Confiscating Legally Owned Guns!

Since we're already way off topic, and I know there are shooters following this string, I have a question: how hard is it to parkerize over a chrome finish, or can it even be done? I bought a Llama Max-I C/F in .45 ACP over the weekend, and it has a blued slide and chrome-plated frame, and I would like to get the whole pistol parkerized. I know the slide can be done, but I don't know if you can do it over chrome.

Did you know...

...that in the movie US Marshalls Robert Downey refers to his and TL Jones' Glocks as a 'Glock 40's?'

That means that they considered calling it what it is, a Glock 22 to be something the audience would, I guess, object to???

Also, 2a, Jones secretly switches mags with Downey, the bad guy, and Downeys gun won't fire with Jones mag in it. Is that right?

Doesn't Jones put an empty magazine in? The question I had was how Downey could pick up the gun with the empty magazine and not feel the weight difference.

...is TLJ dropping Downey's mag and sliding in another. When Downey later draws and *click* TLJ says, I've got your and you got mine...then when Downey goes for his bug, Jones shoots him with HIS bug.

Leading me to believe there was some sort of pistol specific mag feature.
With any auto you notice the weight right away, especially a Glock and especially 15 rounds of .40

Maybe in a LEO model???

As Sharon says to me when I see technical flaws like this, "It's a movie." :lmao:

Also, I'm not a gun expert and am actually fairly new to guns...Mom hates guns and still doesn't know that I own one (several actually). However, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night :killingme

So you're, I'm guessing, at or over the age of 21 and old enough to buy several handguns, but still living with Mom and hiding them from her???

Actually... I was about to ask you the same question as I was wondering how many of those "guns" you have fire caps? :lmao:

I have a quick question. Sorry that it is on topic, but was there only one instance that sparked this outrage? Is it possible that this was propoganda?

So... do you also have those nifty little holsters that come with the cap guns, or did you just get yours with a blister pack? And do you like the ring caps or are you a "firearms" purist who only uses the stips? :lmao:

No. The policy if the NOPD was/is to confiscate any firearms that they find. The case on the TV was one that was caught on camera, but the spokespeople for the NOPD stated that it was their policy to confiscate any and all firearms that they came across. What really bothered me about the scene on TV was that it sure didn't look like the cops were doing anything to identify the revolver as belonging to the woman, which means she'll probably never get it back.

Awwww, still upset that you lost the argument...miserably. And since you've realized that you can't even match intelects with a firearms newbie, you're resorting to your childish wit. You're wife and kids must be so proud.

My wife and kids are proud... just like my shooting club. Now, go get ready for bed before we tell your mommy that you're playing with those cap guns. :lmao:

Here's the latest from the NRA on the issue:
(Fairfax, VA) - Today, the National Rifle Association (NRA) filed a motion in United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana seeking a temporary restraining order to block authorities from confiscating law-abiding citizens' firearms in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

"New Orleans is the first city in the United States to forcibly disarm peaceable law-abiding citizens and it must be the last. Victims are dealing with a complete breakdown of government. At a time when 911 is non-operational and law enforcement cannot respond immediately to calls for help, people have only the Second Amendment to protect themselves, their loved ones and their property," said NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre.

"The NRA stands with law-abiding Americans, who agree that at their most vulnerable moment, their right to defend themselves and their families should not be taken away," said Chris W. Cox, NRA's chief lobbyist.

According to The New York Times, the New Orleans superintendent of police directed that no civilians in New Orleans will be allowed to have guns and that "only law enforcement are allowed to have weapons." ABC News quoted New Orleans' deputy police chief, saying, "No one will be able to be armed. We are going to take all the weapons."

"The NRA is determined to stop this blatant abuse of power by local politicians. It is disgraceful that any government official would further endanger the lives of innocent victims by issuing this ridiculous order. We are very grateful to the many rank and file police officers who have come forward and assisted NRA in exposing these violations of constitutional freedoms. We are also pleased that the Second Amendment Foundation is joining us in this effort," added Cox.

"The actions of the New Orleans government have destroyed the one levee that stands between law-abiding citizens and anarchy - the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. The NRA will not rest until this injustice is resolved," concluded LaPierre.
