Cost of field trips is unreal

i dont know about other counties or even other schools in Calvert Co, but the school my daughter attends, if there is a trip that the class is taking, there have been times where the school provides the funds for the trip if there were children that couldnt go due to financial constraints. thankful we've never had to ask for assistance from the school, but there are MANY who have that need. bless the teachers and administrators that cover the cost. i THINK some of the money may come out of a special PTA fund or something, not sure how they do it, but they do it. if a childs parent signs the permission slip that they are allowing them to attend, but simply cannot cover the financial burden, the school covers it. amazing!

Bless us for paying the taxes that paid for it. :yay:

i never said our taxes pay it...individual schools create special funds out of DONATED money. i'll pray that you never are in need....

You're correct. The tax payers donated the money. You said that you had no idea where they got the money. Also, I'm always in need.

P.S. Your private eye needs to find the SHIFT key.

a bit ####y this morning are we?

It irked me when she said that she thought that the money came from the teachers and administrators. We all know that the funds come from our tax dollars. It burns me, I guess. I've been broke as hell trying to raise my kids and have somehow managed to come up with the funds to pay for each one of their field trips. The schools cannot get enough money to pay for the necessities but they'll take this out of their funds?

well i was talking about using the shift key but since you brought it up. i fail to see how selling cookies and brownies equates to using my tax dollars.

I've always paid for my kids field trips so I really wouldn't know where such things come from, but I wouldn't have thought it was my tax dollars.

Apparently, we don't all know. Please enlighten me, because I'd like to know if my tax dollars are paying for field trips. Link please?

I've yet to see a school fundraiser to pay for field trips, apparently neither has she. I've seen classes have a fundraiser to pay for a field trips. But, I've never seen a generic one to have funds saved at the school for kids that do not bring in money.

she said a PTA fund and I know plenty of teachers that dip into their own pockets for class expenses for children in need.

I apologize for my comments. Recently, a few of my single mom friends have turned into entitlement whores. They expect everyone else to take care of their kids. They work, but the bare minimum. They receive the maximum amount of welfare benefits. And yes, one of them recently sent her child to school without the funds to go on her field trip. The school covered the cost. The mother got her hair lightened, went tanning, and went to a bar to get drunk the very same week. I'm just annoyed.

No, you just had a bit of reality slap you in the face. This happens everyday, all day. YOU just happened to take notice.

Just to pre-warn you, the annoyance never gets easier. Next time you are standing in line to pay for your own groceries and they whip out the "indepenence" card to buy their steak and lobster, pray they break a newly painted fake nail when they swipe the card, get skin cancer from the tanning bed, or their hair turns barney purple next time they have it highlighted.

I have no problems with people getting assistance when it's truly needed. I got the minimum help when it was needed. I had to jump through hoops to get any though. I HATE seeing people take advantage of it. People who are truly helping themselves cannot get it because the funds are being taken up by the welfare whores.

I have no issues with those that need help receiving help. I do have a problem paying my section 8 neighbors rent for their 4 bedroom three bath house while there is a Lincoln navigator and a new Mercedes in the driveway.
