Since my previous posting failed to get any discussion, much less controversy, I thought I would start a new thread . Are there any Cougars (a woman 35+ pursuing younger men) at large in Southern Maryland or is this a strictly Hollywood phenomenon?

You kidding me? I started bartending (and bar hopping) when I was 21 years old. There is no shortage of cougars in SOMD... and there wasn't any shortage of them .... er.... 5-6 years ago... when I was 21.

I've dated a guy 24 years older and 10 years younger than me (not at the same time :killingme) I married a man 4 years older, but had a serious relationship with one 8 years younger. What's that make me? Confused as hell I'll tell ya. I'm now thinking of becoming a lesbian, I haven't tried that yet. :dye:

Would you be looking for an older woman or a younger one?

Got one you're offering up?

No, just wondering.

Is cougar limited to an older woman looking for a younger guy or if an older lesbian is looking for a younger chick would she be a cougar as well or would she have to have a new title like...Puma?

...yeah, but what if she wants a youngster for his virility, vigor and enthusiasm as well as his desire to take instruction?

I prefer a man that doesn't need instruction.

If I weren't already happily in love/married and was on the dating circuit I'd likely find myself interested in men who fell within a "range". They couldn't be more than a few years older/younger than my own age. I just find that we share more in common that way.
Just my personal preference

...and then there is the exception to the rule; The Legendary Buddy Lee.

Yes?
Wow. I've become legendary.

When did this happen?:lmao:

I'm not sure why but I've always enjoyed and felt more comfortable around older folk than people my age. When I'm around people my age I feel as if I have to perform some sort of physical circus performance. Younger people are less interesting to me. They know less about themselves, only care for themselves and have absurd behaviors. Older people have better stories, life stories. They know where to go, what to do and what not to. All the little idiosyncracies that make up a person is what I love. Older people have more of them. Perhaps it's because I yearn to learn. There is less to learn from someone my age than someone who is a bit wiser in years.

As far as cougars...

...I've met several that may have been interested in me. Even though I feel more comfortable around older people I've always shied away from these cougars. I'm a no nonsense type of guy and with some of them I've either felt or known that there was underlying drama.

Nothing to see here
The National Geographic reports that cougar sightings have been on the rise in over twenty midwestern US states and Canada during the past year and a half. Cougars have not inhabited these parts of North America for over a century, so the sightings met with sketpicism at first.

Yet recent photographs, DNA evidence, and carcasses of cougars have removed any remaing doubt that cougars (Puma concolour) are moving back into the region. This increased frequency of confirmed cougar sightings indicates their numbers may be on the rise.

Not that I have to worry about it.

I think Hollywood is a bad example. The most famous cougar relationship out there is Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. Unless they are totally different in private, Ashton Kutcher is not excatly known for his maturity (and I think he sucks anyway. Never liked him in any movie/show I have seen him and he is not too attractive to me either, but anyway). Demi Moore seems a little immature herself, so I guess in this case it possibly is a good match, but I really do not see what she see's in him. To me she seems to get a thrill that some young thing found her attractive. But come on, Demi Moore is good looking.

I agree with another poster that the older someone gets, the less of the age difference appears. I work with someone whose wife is 10 years older than he is, but he is 45 and she is 55. If he was 23 and she is 33, it is more obvious. Plus I really do not know any 33 year old lady that would even find a 23 year old appealing.
