This is a new group to me called the Hillbilly Gypsies, from West Virginia. Nice sound, and you don't expect the noise to come out of that little girl the way it does. Speaking of sound, it does fade out 2 or 3 times, but I think that's the person recording them. It seems to correlate for some reason to them zooming in and out on the shot.

I guess you would classify this as new generation hillbilly music, but it really hearkens back to the old-timey mountain music.

"Foggy Mountain Top" and "West Virginia My Home"

More old-timey music, this time with a gospel influence.

Hank Williams, "I Saw the Light."

Ernest Tubb, first with his classic "Thanks a Lot," and a duet with Loretta Lynn called "Who's Gonna Take Your Garbage Out."

Speaking of hot chicks, Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters - Anita, Helen, and June, with Becky Bowman on bass. I don't know her (Bowman), but June is the one that makes the appearance and then exits. Becky was a family friend; so much so that purportedly, June Carter Cash named her daughter Carlene (Rebecca Carlene) after her.

I'm not saying that I inherited my tasted in off-the-wall music, but it is one more thing I can blame my father for.

Homer and Jethro, "I'm Missing My Wife's Cooking (whenever I can)."

This is probably the first Homer and Jethro song I remember, "The Battle of Kookamonga."

Something a little different from Jethro Burns and the master, Chet Atkins. Not to take away anything from Jethro; he was a superb musician in his own right.

"Gallopin' Guitar"/ "Blackbird"

I know I've played this song here before, but it's an awesome version of "The Tennessee Waltz," with Norah Jones & Bonnie Raitt.

Speaking of Nora Jones, this is her late father Ravi Shankar and her half sister Anoushka Shankar in concert.

Never heard this. Now I know where Marty Stuart got one of his songs. Sounds exactly the same except for the lyrics.

The Texas Troubadours, sans Ernest Tubb, on the Ernest Tubb Show; "the Rosebud Boogey."

Every time I listen to Boxcar Willie, I regret that I never went to see him when I had the chance.

"Train Medley."

A lot of people are surprised when they see a side of June Carter Cash that they didn't realize existed. I get such a kick out of her, though. She was so unrestrained.
