Covid 19

Well, though I'm still not worried about me, or my family, we (or at least I) are under quarantine.

I came in close and direct contact with a Positive COVID19 sufferer at work, we were even were in small confined conference rooms together.

This happened last Wednesday, normal incubation is 2 - 5 days, and I'm asymptomatic, but they want us to make it to 14 days.

Again, I personally am not concerned, but I do have friends and associates with compromised immune systems that I do worry about, and will keep them in mind while deciding what is and isn't smart to do.

That being said.. if you have ANY symptoms, even if you are a shithouse dr and can determine it is not COVID... even if you're 100% sure it's NOT COVID, if you have ANY symptoms, stay your ass at home. Lock your doors, call your doctor (please don't go to the Dr until they tell you to do so).. and hunker down. You may have somebody in your close circle with a depressed or compromised immune system and you may not be aware.

Wishing you all the best! My husband tested negative last week. He got sick as a dog after coming back from overseas travel. Turns out it was one of the regular plagues going around this time of year. We were locked down tight till we got the results back.
On a side note, he still has a residual cough- coughing in public is like the new fart! Anyone around gives you the side eye.

I have no doubt that by now every man, woman, and child in the world has been exposed to many someones with the virus. Just like we get exposed every day to people with flu and colds and whatever other bugs are out there. We'll either pick it up or we won't, then we'll either get sick or we won't.

Like every other bug, it will take out the weak and the healthy will fight it off. It's that way every single flu season. This virus isn't particularly original.

What I don't understand about this quarantine business is that by the time someone finds out that they've been in contact with an infected person, they have already been in contact with hundreds of others. So what's the point of quarantine if you've already infected and been infected?

Just to cut down on the numbers. If I am infected and already exposed 10 other people, lets not make it 20, or 50, since the spread is exponential. It's a mitigation strategy is all.

I'd bet it was solidly here in early January, but no one knew so there was no hysteria.

I hope those older and with compromised immune systems are taking precautions themselves, but Everything we do, reduces the probability of them being exposed. You and I getting sick is not a big deal, and I'm not worried about ME getting it.. but Nicholas wanted to have a friend come visit this week, which was OK until now. His friend's mom has a compromised system, and with what I know now there is no way I will do anything to increase her risks. Not with what I know. Chances are still slim, but not as slim as they were last week.

And yes, since last Wednesday I've come in contact with a lot of people.. (lot less since we went camping over the weekend), but since Friday (when I first got word) I've probably come in contact with a thousand or more LESS people than I normally would have.

A test.

I've been voted off of my sisters island for the time being. Dad is staying with her and is very compromised.

Good thing about these crisis', it allows the idiots and ***s to come out and show themselves so next time we'll know who they are.

Greetings:

What’s wrong boy? You changed your view now that you’ve been exposed?

LOL, adorable!

Reading comprehension is not your friend is it??

I said NO, testing would be a waste of time and resources and put more people at risk..

But nice of you to show the world your true colors.

Actually, no it wouldn't. Especially at this point..

It's a lot more effective to stay put, limit exposure even to ***s like you..

IF I become symptomatic than a test may be helpful, up to that point its a total waste of time and resources.

Greetings:

That’s because (checks notes) THERE AREN’T ENOUGH TESTS AVAILABLE!

You dummies will cut off your nose to spite your face won’t you?
