Black Waitresses Expose Black People As BAD Restaurant Customers Because They Don't Tip!

Both my sisters who waited tables observed this, and working in restaurants, seen it myself. Don't know why this is.

They also said professional women dining alone were ALSO bad. And often rude.

Also - large luncheons. There's a big tip, but per person it comes out very badly. For some reason, in a large group, nobody gives a rat's ass about tipping. My own experience - until I just stopped going - whenever it's a bunch of people buying separate lunches and they all chuck in their amount at the end - I have sometimes thrown in an extra twenty - and they STILL DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH to even pay the bill, much less provide a tip.

I can only guess that some people just don't know that their 12.99 lunch is 13 dollars, plus 4 for drink, plus another dollar for tax, and a couple dollars for tip - making it TWENTY minimum - instead of the 12 they tossed in.

BEST tips - man and woman who appear to be on a date. Sisters both said, men want to impress their dates.

My boys were astounded when I taught them how to figure a tip.

Take the bill, move the decimal point past one number to the left, round up, double. That's a typical tip. If they did poorly, knock a couple dollars off. If they did great, add a couple dollars. Once I taught them that, they always wanted to figure the tip.

And now when they take their mama out for dinner, they even pay that tip.

I often stop for lunch by myself, and am aware that single women diners have ALWAYS had a bad tip rep. They know me now, and I always get terrific service.

Or tax times three and maybe round down.

Old people are terrible tippers. My folks are white and when I've eaten at a restaurant with them I've always left my purse or something so I had to go back and get it and could leave some cash for the server.

True story:

We were all in Lawton OK for my son's basic training graduation and my dad decided to treat us - me, Larry, 3 daughters - to breakfast at the restaurant next to our motel. After breakfast we got our acts together and met in the courtyard. I said, "Where's Dad?" and my mom said, "Oh, he realized that the tip was included because we're a party of more than 6 people so he went to get his cash tip back from the waitress."

He had left her $3.

Anyway, Larry went back and dropped her a ten because the included tip was lowball and she was great. Anyone who has to deal with my parents deserves to get paid.

:yay; :yay:

When I was a kid, one of my first jobs was a dishwasher and kitchen help in a restaurant.

the waitreses used to switch off whenever a group of old DAR women came in for lunch. One of them regularly tipped a dime. ( No joke, a ####ing dime. )

When I worked at Bambino's this old guy used to come in and run the chit out of me, then leave a quarter.

At Myrtle Beach there are two Bike weeks, First the White Bike Week and then Black Bike Week.
During Black Bike week many of the Restaurants just close up.
Bad tipping, and walking out without paying is the reason. Not to mention all of the Jap-Scrap buzzing around with ass holes riding them who think they know how to ride..

I m an old person and I tip pretty well. I always go for 20%, but I will leave a penny for bad service. One other thing I will tip a male server the same as a woman I believe a lot of male servers get the short end of the stick many times.

My fiance has waited tables in the past and boy does she have some stories! I generally start tipping at the 20% mark and adjust up or down depending on the bill and actual service provided. Everyone can have a bad day, waitresses included. It's easy to say leave your troubles at home, but everyone has a life outside of work, and it can be overwhelming at times.

I have to say this much ---

I'm getting a little weary of the inflation of expected tip. I'm beginning to see the wisdom I saw abroad where tips were either non-existent or greatly discouraged (by management) - or in some places, a standard cash amount.

Growing up - I can easily remember that an expected tip was 10%. All you had to do was move the decimal point. PERIOD. You could just double the tax, but that worked when tax was 5% and not 6. Then it was 15 - and then 20 - and then 25. Quite frankly, it would seem prudent to just raise the cost of the food and be done with tips, because it will end up the same. It won't have the desired effect on the courtesy of the staff, but MOST of the time I go out, it's not that the staff are rude - but that they just don't care.

I'm pretty stingy also on tips when - for example - you order AT THE COUNTER - and then pick it up - AT THE COUNTER - and they want a tip.
Carryout spots - have a tip jar. Or if you're at a buffet - and the "waiter" brings you water. WATER. For that, I'm supposed to tip? What's his job, smiling at me?

I am a 20% and up tipper (unless the service really sucks) but I hate tipping for good service when I know the server has to pool tips and then split them with the other servers at the end of the shift. I am tipping for the service I received from MY server not the entire staff. That said, I don't mind when the server tips out the bartender. If the bar tab is significant I will tip the bartender seperately.

At some point the Point of Sale software was updated and now EVERY transaction is configured for a tip

Wife was a waitress for a time in the county, as a general rule she said men were a better tippers. Worse were the mother and adult daughter. The poor tippers are know and the staff rotates who waits on them.
