Cry Me a River CNN: Mom FORCED To Live In Car

bcp

In My Opinion
I think we pay like 2400 a year.
thats full coverage on the Jetta thats paid for
full coverage on the truck thats almost paid for
basic coverage on the old lincoln
and the trailer is also insured on that policy.

Watch it
The first thing I saw was "Santa Barbara." It's a ritzy beach town.

I have no sympathy for someone who tries to live above their means and can't afford it.

If she wants to live inside, she should move somewhere that she can get a decent job and rent isn't outrageous.

Stupid entitlement society.

THANK YOU!! MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY. BOOHOO. Move your butt somewhere that isn't among the highest costs of living in the country and work at WalMart and live in your car until you save some money.

That's still outrageously high. :yay:
Thanks for the advice. I talked to State Farm today, they said it's an extremely fast car (even though the ignition cuts off once you top 100 - it's a GM) and that's part of it. Got it lowered by $60/month (which I can live with). Once I turn 21, the rates will drop down to $225/month since I drive less than 20 miles to work. :yay:

Checked insurance rates when I was trying to get a used 'yoter and it would've been about the same.

I'm just glad the new car has air conditioning. :yahoo: And power steering! :cartwheel

She's a full-time student.
This does make a difference. I'm not taking any classes right now. I couldn't afford to do a full-time college course when I was, no more than three classes at a time for me. I was burned out doing full-time classes and working full-time. :dead:

You gotta love the California. They have parking lots just for homeless people sleeping in cars.

What you don't realize is that some homeless people intentionally come to California for the great weather. They are not going to freeze to death there. So they are inundated with homeless! I guess you do what you gotta do - better for them to congregate where the community wants them than to have them ending up all over town.

Sorry, I'm not Patch...
What mortgage crisis?

Fret not. Barack Obama will be President soon and then we will have no homeless and the mortgage crisis will magically right itself.

Prices are low and you're STUPID if you don't buy now. Why the hell would you wait until the market picks up and homes cost more?

You wouldn't. Unless you're stupid.

There's a 5 BR, 3 BA right up the street from me that is a creampuff - great condition, hardwood floors, brick fireplace, family room, nice lot, fabulous neighborhood (if I do say so myself) for only $299,900. Mortgage payment of $1600 a month.

There's another one in Excuse the Eff Out of Me Society Hill in Ltown for $229,900, 3 BR, 2BA - $1200 a mo.

A big fat ol' house, 4 and 3, in Great Mills, for $1350 a mo.

And you'll OWN it!

You are TOTALLY not going to get that kind of deal a year from now.

Buy low. Sell high. Duh.

Prices are low so NOW is the time to buy.

If you have decent credit and can actually afford to buy a home, NOW IS THE TIME!

Don't be stupid and let this buyer's market opportunity pass you by.

So STOP that renting!!! Renting is for losers! The American dream is to OWN a home, not friggin rent one.

And NOW is the time.

Like this wasn't a clue that she was in trouble??

Good thing she didn't buy a house where a lender wouldn't have allowed 75% of her income to go towards her payment.

Of course if she BOUGHT a house when she was 30 it would have been bought and paid for, but such is the life of a renter.

And she's FORCED to live in a car, but has enough money to care for two dogs??

I guess you are unaware that in California you can actually get wellfare for your pets.

its true I seen it it the washington post when I could afford to have the paper delivered.

When I was a kid lets say 16yo I was taught that your home should not cost more than 3 times your yearly salary:confused: WTF

Now that I am divorced and well buying two kids who I love dearly. I wonder if that means I should look for a house(after childsupport) that cost $117,600. Has anyone seen many of those lately:shrug: I attempted to buy one of those last year $95k plus the required improvements of about 25k brings it in at a cool 120k. Sir we can not loan you that money because you you pay too much in child support:jameo:
