I wanted to ask this question earlier. I figure you must have to be a local. Since I've only been here 15 years, I know I'm not a local. Although my kids were born here, I realize they are not locals, but their children may be.

I've been here 25 years but I'm not a local. I had never heard of the term "bumper" for beer. I have seen the giant-size bottles but I didn't know what they were called.

Heck, I was born in Leonardtown, but didn't spend my first years here and am STILL not considered a local. Well, plus my mom is local but dad was a sailor from New Jersey; hence, I'm a "half-breed."

I've never heard them referred as anything BUT that. :shrug:

A bumper is a quart of beer. A forty-ounce is a Forty. A 22-ounce bottle is a double-deuce.
