Saturday, the USPS carrier was very generous.... not only did I get my mail, but 4 neighbors too, including addressed to people on an adjoining street. Well, like an episode of Seinfeld, I happily delivered the mail, (but without opening it first) and went on my way.

Today, I stopped by the local office and asked to speak with a manager. "Why you need da managah" said the person behind the counter... I repeated my request again, and within oh, 5-10 minutes a young woman came out and axed what the problem (is).

I explained what happened Saturday. She axed how I spelled my streets name, which only has 4 letters. ..... She axed if I delivered the mail..... I said yes, she said "okay" like (so whats the problem?).

Then this.... "we had some people call out and the other drivers dont know the streets names and addresses. "..... I said, well, the information is on the envelopes.

She rolled her eyes.

Well, I guess my mail wont be delivered for a while. Maybe my neighbors will deliver it to me.

I dont' know why you had to go and bother those poor working peeps like that.

I'm sure they had better things to do with their time than listen to you gripe about delivering mail.

Chantee is having a "new weave" crisis, Billy Ray needs to get moving on new 26" rims for his ride and if you don't stop bothering Sharreese she'll never get her "good numbers" picked for the afternoon drawing.

That's strange...I thought mail carriers had a substitute that ran their route, should the regular carrier had to call out...you know...."be it rain, nor snow, nor gloom of night"...you know, the thing man!!

...you know...."be it rain, nor snow, nor gloom of night"...
I asked the postmaster about that back during an "expected" snow event, not snow on the road, but "expected" snow, many years back and they just laughed.

No dedication.

When my father was a rural carrier many years ago, he always hired his own sub. They worked one day a week and whenever he took off. They sometimes worked for two carriers to get more hours, and the carriers would work out their days and time off so they didn't conflict.

Dad retired when he was told that one sub would be hired to cover 12 routes. He knew that wouldn't work well for anyone, carrier, sub, or customers.

The Postal Inspectors will be contacting you about mail tampering for delivering it.

It ain't just USPS, I got a UPS package for someone about 9 miles away, street name no where near similar and address no where near similar. Was on hold for an hour then they asked me to deliver it. I told them I'll throw it out my door in the yard, if it's there tomorrow it's going in the trash.

Have received my mail with the incorrect spelling of the street, the two streets pronunciation is similar. Also gotten mail with just my name and street with no number. Of course that was years ago.

I have never seen people like about half a dozen of you that have constant problems with damned near everything from the Post Office to the cable company to the grocery store.
Thats just the wonderful talent in southern maryland that is left over after the Navy related jobs get first pick.

Country-wide problem if you ask me; Grocery stores were a mess in other places I lived in.
Na, if you get away from population centers that are plum full of good jobs the average fast food worker is better as is the average grocery store employee.

Get just west of I-95 and you can notice a difference.

I have yet to meet someone in the local area who has had a home built by a contractor who has said "I had no issues with the work done." All of them had some problem with the build. And all of them had problems with getting the contractor to fix them properly or within a decent time (or at all without threatening legal action)
